YUKE'S Company of America, the U.S. publishing arm of Japanese game developer YUKE'S Company Limited, today announced that Double D Dodgeball is now available via Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Double D Dodgeball offers intensely competitive dodgeball action for up to eight players. Double D Dodgeball serves up a variety of challenging match options, including Western and Eastern rules, and a retro arcade design that brings the player back to the days when dodgeball was a major playground activity. The game is now available for 800 Microsoft Points.

“With Double D Dodgeball, players can recreate the classic playground sport, which is now banned at most schools, with friends near and far through Xbox LIVE Arcade and without the bruises,” said Ken Koyama, manager of PR and product development at YUKE’S Company of America. “Now is the time for everyone to build up their dodgeball skills so they can unleash their wrath on everyone focused on E3 who will be a few days behind in their skill and achievements.”

Double D Dodgeball is a retro, arcade-style take on the beloved game, allowing players to face off in teams of up to four live players, or six including the AI dodgeballers, in a variety of arenas and match types. Players can strategize before a match begins by drafting a customized team, and selecting from five specialized characters. Eastern and Western rules offer endless replayability, and the arcade-style design and controls offer a dose of nostalgia.  Double D Dodgeball  is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

Originally set to launch on July 30, 2008, Xbox LIVE Arcade scheduling conflicts have resulted in an earlier release of July 16, 2008. This makes Double D Dodgeball the perfect game to start playing during the E3 Entertainment Expo.
