Codemasters New Shooter Announced

Does anyone ever really get tired of killing Nazis? Codemasters and Spark Unlimited – of Call of Duty: Finest Hour heritage – are betting you don't with their announcement of a new WWII FPS in development for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

The team hopes to breathe new life into the genre by setting the game in an unnerving alternate reality. In Fall of Liberty (working title) famed military mind Winston Churchill is hit by a taxi on 5th avenue in New York (actually happened) and killed (didn't happen). A witty twist of real historical events puts the Swastika on the White House and has the Nazis planning a nuclear strike on Manhattan. Players will take up arms in the resistance, and fight a guerrilla war with what has become the most evergreen of video game enemies.

Fall of Liberty is scheduled to ship for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in late 2007. Stay with MyGamer.com to kick Nazi butt on US soil.
