Club Nintendo December 2014 Summary

Ending the Year –

Nintendo is wrapping up 2014 with a low-cost Virtual Console heavy Club Nintendo offering for December 2014.

The following games will be available from December 15 through January 19, 2015.

Kirby Dreamland 3Game #1 – Kirby’s Dreamland 3 (SNES on Wii U VC)
Price – 200 Coins, normally $7.99
Summary – Kirby must once again stop King Dedede in this SNES sequel.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – You can’t really go wrong with Kirby.

Metroid NESGame #2 – Metroid (NES on Wii U VC)
Price – 200 Coins, normally $4.99
Summary – The first game in the Metroid series.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? If you never played Samus’ original quest, be warned of the high difficulty due to no map functionality and challenging gameplay.

Mario Kart SNESGame #3 – Super Mario Kart (SNES on Wii VC)
Price – 250 Coins, normally 800 Wii Points ($8)
Summary – Mario’s first kart racer.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – If you’ve exhausted Mario Kart 8’s options, then checking out the original point of the series is worthwhile if you don’t mind spending more Coins than other games this month.

1080 SnowboardingGame #4 – 1080 Snowboarding (N64 on Wii VC)
Price – 250 Coins, normally 1000 Wii Points ($10)
Summary – Hit the slopes and show off your trick skills.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – I personally was never a fan of 1080 but the timing is right with Winter right around the corner. Was also previously available back in Jan 2014 too.

A Kappas TrailGame #5 – A Kappa’s Trail (DSiWare on 3DS)
Price – 200 Coins, normally $4.99
Summary – Guide a kappa using touch controls.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – Most likely the one game on this list you never played. For only 200 Coins, could be worth experimenting with.

Kid Icarus GBGame #6 – Kid Icarus of Myths and Monsters (GB on 3DS VC)
Price – 150 Coins, normally $3.99
Summary – Pit’s second and often forgotten sequel in the Kid Icarus series.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – If you didn’t already download this title back in March, Myths and Monsters still holds up pretty well today with challenging but fair gameplay and a catchy soundtrack.

Bird and BeansGame #7 – Bird & Beans (DSiWare on 3DS)
Price – 150 Coins, normally $2.99
Summary – A Missile Command-like clone.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – Bird & Beans puts a new spin on the classic Missile Command gameplay by having a bird use his tongue to stop falling objects. Like A Kappa’s Trail, this is probably the other game this month you most likely have never played before.

Radar Mission GBGame #8 – Radar Mission (GB on 3DS VC)
Price – 150 Coins, normally $2.99
Summary – Battleship in electronic format.
Worth Your Club Nintendo Coins? – Do you like Battleship?
