About a year ago, Nintendo dropped the price of the 2DS with Mario Kart 7 download to $100 from its original price of $129.99. However, starting today, May 20th, Nintendo has dropped the price even further to a low $79.99! Mario Kart 7 is still included as a digital download and the system will come in Red or Blue.
The 2DS is designed as an intro system to 3DS gamers and to a younger demographic. The 2DS plays all the 3DS and regular DS games just without any stereoscopic 3D effect. It also is like one big tablet, or a slate, instead of the folding clamshell design of the 3DS and New 3DS systems.
In our opinion, it is pretty hard to argue with the $80 price point especially since it comes with a digital download of Mario Kart 7, a high quality game. But what do you think? Will you pick one up?
