TALES OF LEGENDIA(tm) GOES GOLD

Classic RPG Franchise Spins a Tale of Solid Gold on PlayStation(r)2 with

New Battle System, Anime Art Style

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (January 11, 2006) – Leading video games publisher
and developer NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. announced today that Tales
of Legendia(tm) for the PlayStation(r)2 computer entertainment system
has gone gold. The latest installment in the renowned Tales role playing
series lets players embark on a journey to uncover the mysteries of a
legendary ship and take on fearsome creatures using a unique fighting
system influenced by the award-winning SOULCALIBUR(r) series.

An original adventure in the Tales universe, Tales of Legendia sets
players in a lush game world that is actually a massive ship called the
Legacy, a remnant of a civilization long past. Assuming the role of main
character Senel, an Alliance marine skilled in an art known as “eres”,
players will experience a dramatic storyline and uncover the truth
behind the Legacy. In the process, the characters learn the depths of
their relationships in an epic tales of love and heroism.

Tales of Legendia combines the depth and storytelling of a traditional
RPG with the action and strategy of a fighting game, letting players
explore the Legacy and uncover its secrets, while taking on fearsome
enemies with the game’s new X-LiMBS (Crossover Linear Motion) battle
system. Influenced by the acclaimed SOULCALIBUR series of fighting
games, X-LiMBS lets players unleash attacks never before seen in a role
playing game such as throws and rapid fire combos and execute potent
team attacks. Boasting detailed and vibrant 3D graphics, Tales of
Legendia features an all-new cast of characters and close to 30 minutes
of anime cut scenes featuring characters designed by artist Kazuto
Nakazawa, renowned for his work on the animated sequences in Kill Bill:
Volume 1 and the anime series Samurai Champloo.

“With its classic RPG gameplay, innovative battle system and stunning
art style, Tales of Legendia sets a new standard for interactive
storytelling,” said Yoshi Niki, business unit director at NAMCO BANDAI
Games America Inc. “The new X-LiMBS battle system adds a level of
fighting depth never before seen in a role playing game, further
enhancing the player’s bond with the characters and adding a new element
of combat strategy to the series.”

Tales of Legendia is rated T for “Teen” by the ESRB, and will be
available in stores this February.
