Anybody that rates this under a 4 star, must be dumb September 16, 2008 I admit, when I first played the game, I though it sucked. Then I kept playing, online play is incredible. The graphics are awesome and the detail is incredible. Anybody that gives this under a 4 star was expecting crap like Ace Combat. This is too realistic for that. No aircraft in existance can hold 60+ missiles. If you want real, this is the game.
A major let down February 15, 2008 Can't even compare to Ace Combat 6, a far more detailed game. Reminds me of alot of old nintendo flight games. Definately a major let down.
its ok September 13, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Game is ok. I'd give it a three.
pros: graphics are awsome and very detailed. when you run out of ammo or fuel, or your aircraft is damaged, you can land at the base or carrier and reload, refuel, and fix your Aircraft. flight controls are good. the game also has a free flight mode.
cons: mission are extremely difficuly. its almost impossible to evade a missle. one hit and your gone. music horrible. sometimes your missles wont even lock onto an enemy.
overall the game is just like Aero Elite Combat Academy for Ps2, for those of you familiar. it isnt similar to the ace combat series, but then again its a different type of flight sim. its only worth buying if your heavly into flight sims and if you have much patience for being shot down all the time.

Not as fun as I originally thought it would be . Glad I didnt buy it . I love jet games which I mostly play on my PC. I rented this for my 360 and Im glad I did before I bought it . Some may like it, some may not, its not a bad game just not fitting what Im use to on PC.
Three stars is about right!!!!! October 5, 2006 13 out of 16 found this review helpful
I served four years in the Air Force so I was excited about this game coming out. About time xbox made a modern jet game!!! Now to the game... I was expecting a lot more from it to tell the truth. The graphics are amazing however the gameplay is terrible especially in novice mode. In novice mode, your plane is way too slow and difficult to turn. As another poster stated it feels like your flying through mud. When I switched over to expert mode, it seemed like the jet flew easier however defeating the enemies became way too hard. On some missions right when you start, someones already firing missles at you and sometimes two at once.
Also the game becomes very repetitive. There only so many times you can go out and "intercept" incoming aircraft and ships before you feel like you are doing the same thing over and over again.
As for during the options and briefing menus/screens, there wasnt much effort put into them. Between missions your spoken to by still pictures of cartoons... they dont even move. Between the game missions, it looks like a super nintendo game.
Also, the music SUCKS!!! I'd have to say this is the worst part of the game. Who ever made this game obviously has never seen the movie TOP GUN. The music is so far from what a real jet pilot would listen to its rediculous!!
So basically, it's an average game. Something that can be enjoyed for a while however it'll get old quick. Rent it so you wont have to waste 60 dollars on it. This is a thirty dollar game not sixty.
