could be way better August 27, 2008 overall the stick is good, but after only 3 weeks my X button began to fail. Now it only works half of the time. Looks like I'll be moding this stick with better buttons sooner than I thought!
Pretty decent stick for the non-elitist August 24, 2008 I find this is a pretty good arcade fighting stick overall. It's not as good as my old Street Fighter Anniversary stick on the PS2/Xbox - it's a lot clickier and a different feel - from what I hear it's the square plate underneath.
Some of the fighting game elitists will say the stick sucks and recommend a 100+ or custom-built stick. I don't think that's the case. I think this is a perfectly serviceable stick. I find the diagonals are a little touchy once in a while to hit, the buttons are serviceable, and it's miles better than an Xbox controller.
4/5. Good stick, not as good as some older sticks, but can't be beat for the price.
PERFECT August 17, 2008 This is the ONLY arcade stick you need to own, it is the BEST on the market (of course, it's a Bandai Product) hands down, and it's built like a tank, this baby will keep you fighting for years, the victories in battle are up to you.
Slightly inferior to PS2 SC2 Stick. August 9, 2008 This stick is almost identical to the PS2 Hori SC2 Stick, with the addition of the extra Xbox360 buttons. It's solid and smooth, the only gripe I have is the palm rest was shortened by a few inches, making it sort of unconfortable for people w/ larger hands, as you can't rest your hand on the surface of the stick. You end hanging your hand off the bottom edge.
In any case, it's still a great stick, and I still couldn't imaging playing Soul Calibur on a joypad.
Time tested and solid August 9, 2008 This is the same stick that was issued as the Dead or Alive 4 joystick; the non-decorated version is known as the Fighting Stick EX2. The joystick has a nice soft feel -- very good for rolling quarter-circle moves. I've used it in Street Fighter Anniversary Collection as well as DOA4 and Soulcalibur IV; it's well worth the money and the build quality is quite good -- other EX2s I've used have had no problem over the long term with durability. Also, it's small enough to fit on your lap if you don't have a coffee table or TV tray.
However, while this stick is excellent for fighters, it's not so good for classic arcade games like Ms. Pac-Man or New Rally-X -- the soft-springed joystick doesn't feel accurate in those games, which were designed with stiffer four-way sticks in mind. But if you use it with the games for which it was built, you'll be quite happy.
