Excellent alternative September 3, 2008 I don't even know if alternative is the right word for this product. It does exactly the same thing as the 360-branded wireless adapter, but it does it for half the price.
I've had my Xbox 360 connected to this for over 3 months, and I haven't had a single problem with playing online. I've played everything from UNO to Grand Theft Auto IV, and my connection has been flawless. I've only been disconnected from a game once, and I'm 99% sure it was my internet connection and not this adapter.
As others have mentioned in their reviews, you don't need the discs that come with this adapter. Setting this up took all of 5 minutes, most of which was spent trying to find my WEP key.
I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to put their 360 online, but doesn't want to pay Microsoft's ridiculous $100 price tag for a 360-branded adapter. This works exactly the same way, and you won't be disappointed.
Works with my Xbox 360 August 30, 2008 Although I believe it was designed for the old Xbox, I had it up and running with my Xbox 360 in minutes. After 3 weeks of heavy use, no problems to report.
Works great on 360 August 26, 2008 This worked fine once it was set up correctly. Don't use the disk and go into network settings to search and select your wireless profile. It took a bit to find it, but once it did the internet connection was great. Much better deal than the $90 one.
Wireless Adapter for Xbox or Xbox 360 August 16, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a more affordable option compared to the new USB Xbox 360 wireless adapter; if you dont mind using the ethernet adapter on the Xbox 360 and the fact that it will sit on top of the unit and a diffrent color(Black) and a external power supply.
Installation was a brezze and straight forward just connect to your wireless access point and you are done.
If you are looking to save a few bucks and are looking to ave the same funtionality this is your best bet because it's made by Microsoft and it is fully compatible with both units.
I hope that this review helps you on making a decision on your purchase.
Works great with Xbox 360 August 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This adapter is cheaper than the USB wireless adapter and is easy to use. It simply uses a cat5 cable to plug into the Xbox 360 and then plugs into the wall. When you turn on your 360 go to the network settings and enter your network information, but don't use the CD included with this product. I read that other have had problems when they tried to run the CD so I didn't use it. The Xbox 360 is pre-setup to interact with this type of network adapter and will recognize it when you start-up with the adapter attached. I've played Xbox live and downloaded lots of videos and had no problems. The speed is only limited by your connection speed. This adapter works with 802.11 B/G and can transfer 54Mbps (most high-speed internet connections run at around 5 to 16Mbps).
