4 out of 5 stars Great multiplayer with rather dull single player   June 26, 2008
Of all the games I had for xbox this is the one people liked playing the best. The crazy crashes and encouragement to drive aggressively made this game worth hours and hours of multiplayer fun.

The single player campaign is pretty uninspired and get mind numbingly difficult at times. Still it is amusing most of the time and overall the game is well worth it.

4 out of 5 stars BURNOUT: STILL AWESOME AFTER ALL THESE YEARS 8.5 OUT OF 10   December 3, 2007
Burnout is still one of the best racing games ever made, because it's just so damn awesome to crash things and wreak havoc upon cities. The racing is still solid, especially when crashing an opponent. The graphics are still great, the city designs are still awesome, and the crash modeling is still awesome. Unfortunately, some of the fun that this game has, has worn off for me. With that said this is still one of the most awesome racing games ever made.

4 out of 5 stars Fun racing/wrecking game!   November 21, 2007
My cousin told me about this game and when we rented it we had SO much fun! Im notorious for my wrecking in real life so this is a good way to wreck and not get hurt lol. Its a real fun game but dont play too much or it turns into the same thing over and over.

5 out of 5 stars excellent game.   November 4, 2007
this game was an awsome game. the first time I played it, I was immediatly hooked. this game has every type of racing you can think of. my personal favorite is the rage, I just like the idea of seeing how many cars you can wreck before the finish line, or when your car is totaled. I also enjoy the crash, I find it very challenging. I always like to plan out the way the crash is going to happen, how the car is going to land and roll, etc. I do recommend this game to anyone of all ages.

5 out of 5 stars Wow...just wow...   June 2, 2007
I have never been a fan of racing games. Too boring for my taste. Until I played Burnout.
Once, I played Burnout 2 for Gamecube (my brother had rented it), and I thought it was cool, but not cool enough to buy. Note that I didn't play that game much at all. So about 2 years later, I go to sleepover at someone's house, and he's playing Burnout 3. I look at it, ask if i can play, and I'm hooked.
Now enough story, on to the game. You can choose from a varaity of cars, and each of them have different aspects (duh). Then you choose a track or challenge (depending on what race mode you're in), and you start. Yeah, it's pretty much you going 200 through crowded streets, knocking the other guys into stuff, and crashing yourself.
Yes, in Burnout, crashing is a huge part of the game. You can make someone crash after you crash (aftertouch takedown) by moving your car around by using "impact time". Pretty much you hold the "a" button down while holding the control stick in which direction you want to go. Usually you won't go far, however. Also, you don't want to crash all the time. In fact, in the main story you pretty much want to avoid crashing.
There is a full-flegged multiplayer mode in Burnout 3, even going so far as to offer online play on Xbox Live. Modes include a race, a demolition derby-type mode, a mode where you have to cause the most whreckage by crashing, etc.
Also, on the Xbox version, you can use songs stored on your Xbox and listen to them in-game.
Now, that was a lot, but it's pretty much screaming, BUY THIS GAME. Even if you don't like racers, you'll love it. Although you should probably rent it first.
