4 out of 5 stars First time player   May 2, 2008

Ok, this is the opinion from a person who had never played a GTA game before. This game is great, the design is amazing and the best game play experience that I have ever had. I have not been lured by GTA series before because I do not like to be the "bad guy" in a game, however, Niko is not a "bad guy", he is just a guy with bad luck and that has not taken the best choices in his life. This game is more like a really good movie.

Pros:
1. GAMEPLAY
2. Music is fantastic.
3. Story is fabulous.

Cons:
The only one so far is that graphics could be much better, but this game is not about the graphics, despite the fact that is a "next gen".

5 out of 5 stars Best PS3 game by far   May 2, 2008

This has got to be the best game in the world ever made. Graphics are unbelievably awesome. Gameplay fun and challenging. Missions make sense. Better storyline than san andreas. San Andreas just plain sucked in the storyline. I don't mind the russian at all. The strippers ain't bad looking either.

5 out of 5 stars Overall GTA IV is a winner!   May 2, 2008

I going to make a long story short and just come straight out and say the only thing that could have been better is the graphics. Other than that the game far exceeds expectations, I mean c'mon you can check your email, drive drunk, hail cabs, visit strip clubs and get lap dances, date multiple women, watch tv, play online, kill at will, check criminal records from the police computer inside the cop car, and the list goes on and on. Give the game a couple hours and it will be all you think about.

5 out of 5 stars Good details and graphics   May 1, 2008

Well, I bought the game when it came out. I have to say that this game is very good, so far. I just have to get used to the controls. I've noticed that some of buttons that was used to do actions in the previous GTA titles, they've changed. I mention details that make the game spectacular. First, there is the cell phone. You can actually dial it like a real phone. You can receive text-messages, and you can even change your ring tone. Out of curiosity, I even dialed 911 and was able to choose whether I wanted a police, firefighter or ambulance to come to my location. Very neat. Also, I randomly killed a man. When I when to get his money, I noticed that I actually walked on top of him and he moved. I've never seen a game where someone can walk on a dead body and it actually moves. Lots of detail there. Also, I like how the GPS system lets you know that it is going to a certain destination. That GPS comes in handy. Didn't you hate having to remember locations in the previous GTA games? Also, when cops are after you, you can hear them saying the location that you are headed in. People who reviewed this game said that the graphics are almost like PS2. I don't agree. The graphics and the lighting is exceptional. When I was in a car, I was driving under a bridge and I could see the moving shadows of the train riding by. This game is top-notch. I've just started, but I know that they'll be lots of drama. Drama is the name of the GTA game. This is likely to be the best, as far as a story line goes.

5 out of 5 stars Pretty close to perfect   May 1, 2008

What more can be said about this game that hasn't already been said? It's incredible. You can literally play for hours and not even scratch the surface of what the game has to offer. I spent 30min just in a bar playing pool last night. And then I took my date home and she invited me inside. How much greater can this game be?

There are imperfections. I've experienced some slow down, walking through people, pop-up shadows and stuff. The controls take a lot of getting used to as there is so much you can do. It seems a little complicated at first but the more you play, the less of an issue it is.

The graphics are often times mind blowing. They look the best when you're viewing the city at a distance. The level of detail is incredible. Graphics for characters have been better in other games but given the amount of information that is crammed onto this one disc, a few less polygons on the characters in GTA is forgivable.

That being said, I still have so much more to experience in this game. And that's what is so great about it. Even after you finish the story mode, you can still have loads of fun just tearing up the city. This game will never get old.

I can only imagine what GTA5 will look like.
