So so.. July 10, 2008 I have a fairly powerful one year old macbook pro and while the game runs, it doesn't perform very well unless I turn the graphics options all the way down. The online downloadable content doesn't exist yet, and when you go online to play someone, there's hardly ever anyone there to play, or their servers are down.
Fun game, but lots of things about it need improvement.
I play other games on this same mac book pro with no performance issues, WoW and Diablo II for example.
Loads of fun June 25, 2008 Loads of fun. My only problem with the game is that I only know about 20% of the songs, making it very hard to play. I'm waiting for them to release 80s/90s for the Wii as well.
Takes a little coaxing to work, but it's worth it. June 16, 2008 I have a 5 month old higher end Macbook, and in order to get the game to play, you must download a patch from the Guitar Hero website, and put all of the gameplay settings on the lowest performance settings. If you didn't know this, it could get very frustrating to install this game and watch it stall and freeze all the time.
After I got it working, it's a great game!
PC Version Needs Work! June 14, 2008 First of all, the PC version lacks significant flexibility like that which is found in the console versions. To date, there is absolutely NO downloadable content available to PC users. The online battle interface is remedial at best, and it often has limited or not connectivity. Finally, the well-known issue with high system requirements.
Overall, I'd be a much happier customer if they would redo the PC porting and work harder to lower the system requirements, such as allowing users to disable unnecessary graphic-intensive operations. In a world where all you want to do is wail on the frets without notes skipping ahead, who needs dancing avatars... *sigh*
Very adictive. June 14, 2008 I love this game. I had played it some time ago, but I am not a console fan, so I had to wait for it to come out in the PC.
I have used it with no problem. I am running Vista Premium Home 64 bit, and a computer index of 5.4.
It's a very fun family game. I am thinking of getting a second controller for the cooperative mode, even though you can play it with the keyboard.
