Great Game!!!!! November 26, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Game Boy Gamer 06
Pokemon is one main thing, and this is what get's the items that people buy today (that are involved with Pokemon). It is battling, catching, and exploring. Now, there is a whole lot to explain about Sapphire. There are tons of subquests!!!!! That's good!!!!! More Pokemon, plus it is so different from Pokemon Yellow, Blue, Red, Silver, Gold, and Crystal!!!!! You can catch KYOGRE. More battling then any trainer is used to is GUARENTEED!!!!!
Me and friends like trading Pokemon. That is a new attachment that is worth talking about. I traded my Treecko for a Mudkip I nicknamed "Jedi" and my Mudkip grew into a strong, healthy LV. 50 2nd stage evolution!!!!!
Addicting! November 17, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is a must to a pokemon fan! First you start out in Littleroot and you meet the Professer. He gives you a starter pokemon. You can choose from Treeko, Torchic, or Mudkip. You beat all the leaders of the towns. You beat the Pokemon elite 4. And last you defeat Steven Stone, the Champ. It sounds like too little, but the game has a lot in the middle. You can enter contests, breed, trade, ect. I was quite dissapointed when I went to the challenge place. In Emerald, there is a lot more to offer. And the best part about the game is it never ends. You can get your pokemon degree and still battle, blah, blah, blah... A good game for 8 and up, since there requires THINKING.
very cool October 1, 2006 i love my pokemon sapphire. it's a great game for people who have played pokemon before but if your a beginner i would get help from some online website. sadly you cannot trade with gold silver crystal red blue and yellow :-(. for once you actully fight the leader of the team your fighting ^__^! but i'll say it right now after youve betean the game it gets kind of boring. but boring or not its very cool :-)!!
saphire fever August 10, 2006 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
the moment i got my mudkip i instatly cought saphire fever. saphire unfortunantly cant be played on gameboy color. there are two new "evil teams" are team aqua and team magma(sadly there is no team rocket. in saphire the team you are fighting is team aqua(who wants the trouble of fighting two teams). the three legendarias are groudon, kyogre and rayqaza but you dont need to worry about groudon because you dont catch him. kyogre is in the cave of origin and you can either beat him or catch him(i would catch him he is super strong)you can use your master ball if you like but i would save it for latias(make sure you save before you battle him if you are trying to catch him if he beats you or you beat him you can turn of and try again). rayquaza is at the top of the sky pillar and if you dont want to catch him ignore the sky pillar onless you want a good ghost type. if you want to catch him make sure you save and its ok to use your master ball but i would use in on latias. keep in mind you can only catch him after you beat the elite four. there are also three miner legenarias regirock, regice and registeel. to get these three i would recomend either a guide of somesort or a good brail guid. i would only catch one if i were you because the moves they learn are pretty much the same. there wareabouts are regice is an island between dewford and slaport, regirock is at the botom of the desert and registeel is right outside lilycove(where the girl who gives you the berry is. for finding them i would also recomend a guid because i cannot explain there locations are very well. when you get to there locations you will notice that there is no way in. that is because you have not gone to the sealed chamber. i would use a guide to get there because its very hard to get there without instuctions. im going to save you alot of trouble by telling you this when you enter the sealed chamber go right to the front and use dig( wich you get from fossil maniacs younger brother). a door will open and proseed into the next chamber walk to the front put ralicanth at the front of your party and wailord at the back and hit the A bottun(if you want to get emereld read the emerld reveiws in emreld things are differt and alot harder). once your in the tomb of the regis read the brail at the front and it will tell you to use a certain move in a certain place then you can catch the regis(do not use your master ball there are bigger and better things to use it on). i know i mentioned the elite four earlyer so here it is. the elite four(also known as the pokem leage)are a group of four members and the champion. there pokemon typs go dark, ghost, ice, dragon and finally steel(get a good water type and you'll crush the champion). once you beat the elite four the ferry starts working so you can go to battle tower. there are two rooms in the battle tower the level 50 room and the level 100 room. in the level fifty room you fight seven trainers(all there pokemon are level fifty)you can use only three pokemon and you cant use rayquaza kyogre or groudon. same rules for the level 100 room only every trainers pokemon is level 100. you cant hook up with c/s/g/r/b/y but you can hook up with firered and leafgreen. your probobly going to catch saphire fever too.
I thought having new pokemon would be fun... July 22, 2006 Here are the pros:
-2-on-2 battling
-new pokemon(if you consider this a good thing, i actually kinda dont)
-2 pokemon can be put in the breeding center
That's it. those are the only 3 pros.
Now, for the cons.
-cant trade with g/s/c. that's right, people! you cant trade that shiny gyrados or shiny(if it was, there was a 50% of it being shiny)pokemon you got from that mystery egg! well, even if you did trade it, it would have that horrible thing called a "nature" which may give it crappy stats. plus, R/S/S/FR/LG versions don't give shinies better stats than normal pokemon.
-natures, evs, ivs, and all that other crap we dont care about, was unfortunately put in the game...and it takes even longer to get a better pokemon
-shinies are rarer. nope, you cant get 1 shiny without it coming out of the wild. oh well! there's only a 1/8000 chance of that happening! geez. in g/s/c, i KNOW you have a higher chance of getting one. and if you did, it had higher stats than normal.
They also purposely made the starters better than one another. back in the old days, charizard, venusaur, and blastoise were equal. same with the 2nd generation. sceptile is the only 3rd generation starter without a 2nd type. yes, blastoise didnt have one either, but blastoise could counter his 2 weaknesses. sceptile can only counter 3 weaknesses out of 7 max.! What else don't I get? That swampert is only bad against 1! Not to mention blaziken is the most overrated starter ever.
They have based the card game and dungeon red/blue entirely off the 3rd generation fire/water starters, and im getting so sick of seeing them! At least if you're going to make starters, make them DECENT and CUTE so we dont get tired of seeing them so much when you make spin-offs!
...I wish the old days were back:( They were more fun, and less of a hastle to raise pokemon.
