2 out of 5 stars Get the G5 Instead   October 24, 2008
I love Logitecs products. This one is a disapointment though. My wife got me one for christmas. Its slipery. Its too small. Its painful to use for long periods of time. The DPI sensitivity buttons are placed poorly. Its frustrating when you accidentaly push those sensitity buttons.

1 out of 5 stars Horrible tracking; cheaply made.   October 22, 2008
I have no idea why this has such great reviews--it only worked "okay" right out of the box, but after a week or so the tracking became erratic and jumpy. I purchased this for its high resolution tracking, as I spend 8-10 hours a day working in Photoshop and InDesign and need precision to do my job quickly.

In the four months I've had this, I've had to rely on my wacom tablet almost exclusively because the MX518 is so infuriating to use. I got so sick of using it just for browsing, that I finally bought a new mouse a few days ago. I've used mice that cost from $100 to $15, and I can honestly say this one was the worst of them all.

To top it all off, the plastic casing is extremely cheap-looking and unpleasant to rest your hand on--the paint (or plastic coating?) is all worn off the black logo on top.

I expected higher quality from logitech than this.

5 out of 5 stars Great gaming mouse   October 18, 2008

3 out of 5 stars It's just OK!   October 11, 2008
Well, this is my everyday mouse. At first i was amazed by the mouse because it was my second optical mouse replacing a cheap logitech optical mouse. After almost 10 months of using it, i'm no longer amazed. First, the sensitivity increase buttons are too sensitive. I always pressed the button to lower the sensitivity every time i used the scroll wheel in the middle of games. Second, clicks sometimes didn't work. This happened when using applications or gaming. After a while, i realized it was because of mouse sensitivity too, so i ended disabling the sensitivity buttons to play games and lowering the sensitivity manually to click without problems. At least SetPoint software worked for something. Overall, just an OK mouse. Perhaps i got a bad mouse. It will be replaced soon.

5 out of 5 stars Best FPS CSS mouse!!   October 9, 2008
I am a css player (yes i am also a cal-im baddie). Owned many mice include the razer daimondback, ms intelli 1.1a, razer deathadder, and logitech g5, and the steelseries ikari optical. All of the above are great mice for css. But the fact I would like to point out is that the mx518 beats out all of them. My previous mouse was the deathadder, liked it a lot had it for a couple of yrs. Never tried the mx518 even though it came out for a while now. Now that i got it, love it even more. Threw my deathadder aside and this became my baby!!
