it is worth buying a brand name.... November 16, 2008 This is my sons 4th portable dvd player and he is only 5 years old. In the past I would buy the cheapest one I could find but they never lasted very long or would skip in the car. I finally broke down and bought the name brand and it is worth the difference in price because it is durable.
The whole family just love it! It's a life saver if you have a Terrible Two. November 16, 2008 We have a terrible two, whose energy level is very high. This is the only thing can keep her quiet and laugh for over one hour. We use it every day. Beautiful pictures, very loud voice, but, not that good at the highest level. Controller is great!
Very happy with this buying. Had thought to wait and buy the new model 850, but can't wait...Anyway, so happy! Excellent quality/price ratio.
Terrific DVD player! November 16, 2008 I use this DVD player quite often and am delighted with it. It has a long lasting rechargeable battery - about 6 hours - and is good to take on the bus with me when I leave my hometown for various roadtrips. It is slin in design, and the picture on it swivel around, enabling the viewer to use it at a variety of angles. It also has 2 headphone jacks so two people can listen to it in privacy and comes with adapters so as to enable its use with a regular television. SONY is the best. This is more expensive than COBY or other portable DVD players, but you get what you pay for and I will buy only SONY electronics if possible. I paid a little extra for the extended warranty.
Great Player for the Price November 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Used this on a recent flight - worked very well. Prior to the trip - I charged up the battery but it only showed 2/3 full. None the less, I used it during the trip, then recharged and now it is showing Full.
Great Player - slow on loading November 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great player - plays all DVD's that I have put in it. Has option for full screen and widescreen. Great display - clear! Sound is fine using headphones and low volumes from speakers. Love the swivel action on the display - can even turn it around and close it on itself and have the screen show up on the top side like a tablet PC. Battery lasted fine on two leg plane trip form East Coast to Texas.
Only downside that I have found so far is that it takes an unusual amount of time to load a DVD+R disk. But again - it plays great, great video quality. I would give it a 4.5 but could only give it a 4 or a 5.
