Works with microSDHC cards! (with SD adapter) September 9, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I got this product for my phone. The description doesn't say that this reader/writer can read/write SanDisc microSDHC cards, but it can as long as you have the adapter that should come with it. It read my 4 gig SanDisc mircoSDHC card. Because of this product, I can save money from buying a new specifically designed data cable for every new phone I get. This is great for transferring music and pictures to and from my phone.
I'm on Verizon's network. Not sure how your phone's operating system will work with SD/SDHC cards, but if you have a Verizon phone and need help transferring music to your phone with this product, what you'll need to do is, first, put your card in your phone (you may need to format the card), then your phone should automatically create folders. With newly created folders, put your microSDHC into your adapter, then into the card reader/writer, then into your computer. Sync the songs you want (I used Windows Media Player 10), then your card should have another folder called, "Music." Open two windows, one to view the folders on your SDHC card, and one to select the songs that you just synced to your SDHC card. Then move the selected songs from the "Music" folder to the "my_music" folder (the folder your phone created) and your phone should be able to add the songs to your library next time you select "Manage Music" or "My Music" from your "Get It Now" or "Media" menu. If you don't move the songs from the "Music" folder to the "my_music" folder, then you'll have songs on your phone that your phone won't access. My phone won't simply read mp3s or wma files by just transferring music by copying and paste. I have to sync the songs using WMP10 (it then reconverts the files before syncing). I hope that helps.
hit or miss September 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Didn't work for me on several different os's. From the other reviews, seems like a hit or miss thing. Eh, you get what you pay for.
Love it August 5, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love this little guy! Fabulous size, great for quickly getting data off cards. I also use it to carry around an extra card, and feel comfortable doing so thanks to the second cap over the space where the card goes (no dirt or shmutz). It's nice that the cap fits on over a card when it's in there. I'm also impressed I haven't lost either of the caps yet... so they must fit on well. ;)
small device does the job August 5, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
[...] it reads and writes 1 to 4gb SD and 1-4 micro SD (with adapter), 4gb SDHC(micro SDHC as well with its adapter) up to 16gb SDHC (these cards i tried so far) it can take up to more and higher SDHC cards. i had a 2 years old Dell laptop and it couldn't read the SDHC card in its memory card reader, so i used this CTCstore 6-in-1 USB 2.0 High Speed Memory Card Reader Writer plug it in the laptop USB port and insert the SDHC card ( Patriot 16gb SDHC), and i was able to edit and moved the photos and movies from my digital camera (Canon SD 870 IS) in and out nicely. I had window XP home on my laptop and destop as well. Hope this review is helpful to you.
