3 out of 5 stars 'Mediocre Device'   October 14, 2008
Overall the earphones are satisfactory. However, the acoustics are limited, the basic apple phones are even better than the Sennheiser's. One reason to buy them was the incentive of a mail-in rebate. After having sent them the pertaining code bar etc. they refused to send a check because of 'wrong documentation'which is absolutely bogus since I had sent everything correctly. I won't fall for this again.

5 out of 5 stars MX55: Excellent sound   October 14, 2008

This review is for Sennehiser MX55 Street w/o volume control (the least expensive of the three models listed on this page; the other two are MX55V and MX75). I have no issues with twist-to-fit, but then, I don't have problems with the fit of other earbuds either. What I got this pair for is the sound. The sound is excellent. It has a much better bass response than Sennheiser MX660 (top of the line drivers of the "classic" earbud line). The bass is just right. (By the way, using foams is necessary to get a good bass.) Highs are balanced and not shrill. Channel separation is not perfect, but consider the price. I find that the regular rubber ring works best for me. I definitely recommend this product.

1 out of 5 stars I'm trying something else next - I had 3 problems with these   October 13, 2008

While these sound amazing initially, unfortunately I found problems that made these unusable for working out:

(1) small green pads fall off and are lossed because they are so tiny
(2) frequently fall out of ears when running, and on eliptical runner
(3) once saturated with sweat the sound is distorted, and I found the sound quality so irritating after that I had to turn it off for the rest of my workout

4 out of 5 stars A Better Value than the MX55   October 12, 2008

I bought and use these entirely for exercising - primarily running. While the green color is rather obnoxious, I find that the design is much improved over the MX55. Which I

The 55's had a inline volume control that I never used and instead created an annoying lump in my clothes (I route the cable underneath my shirt down to my wrist band where my iPod Nano is secured.) In addition, the tabs that held the 55's in my ear weren't as well designed and didn't have the option of multiple size pads like the 75's did.

I also liked that the 75's came with extra parts. At some point, the 55's lost a piece or two and became virtually useless.

4 out of 5 stars Good earphones for the price   October 7, 2008

These ear phones really fit. I have had problems finding earbuds that stay put. I have never liked the in-the-ear types and finally someone made a product that works. The sound is very good, mostly because the speaker stays where it needs to be to transmit the music into your ear canal. The bass response could be stronger but most basic equalizers should be able to compensate to give you a good experience. The only downside: the cord will not uncoil/untwist. I have had them hanging straight down from a hanger with a light weight on the end for two months and they still look like a slinky when I wear them. I just tuck them under my shirt when I run. Otherwise they fit and they sound good.
