5 out of 5 stars Saitek Eclipse Keyboard ( PZ30AU )   July 2, 2008

Excellent keyboard for the price- I thought that some of the backlit characters could be a little easier to read since I'm pretty much a two fingered typer, but I tend to go mainly by memory like someone who's an ACTUAL typist might....just a bit slower! The lighting is nice, since I use my PC in low light a good part of the time. Spacing of items is normal and the keys are easy to access without accidentally hitting any nearby ones like some keyboards can be. (especially laptops) I bought this sight unseen and I'm very happy with it!

1 out of 5 stars keyboard failures when light is on!   June 22, 2008

[...] When my keyboard started opening search windows all by itself! with the letters asd in them- I found it was a defect with the light- which is WHY I bought this keyboard. Their site's forum (see link above) had many instances of the same and other forms of freaking out. If you turn off the light- it stops this behavior- but when you reboot- it defaults back to the light on high (worst). I left my pc to reboot before going to bed and forgot about my problem and in the morning I heard error sounds- the keyboard had so many search windows opened- it took several minutes to close them all (had no group option?). Because I need lighted keys- I am now in search of a new keyboard. PS- gamers say keys rub off QUICKLY and Saitek just sends them new ones. BOTTOM LINE- IF you buy this keyboard- SAVE YOUR RECEIPT= chances are you will need it- if it happens within 2 years. My research says Eclipse II fixed erratic behavior but not keys wearing out. Please post reviews on your purchases- people like me depend on other's experiences! Thanks

Received this item very quickly in the mail from Amazon.com. Works great. Nice soft keys that don't click loudly on press, wrist bar, good price. Thanks Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted   May 14, 2008

Everything is just great with the product. I can see the keys without any lights on and that is all I care about. It is easy to type on and there are absolutely no problems.

I highly recommend this keyboard for all gamers and just computer users in general. It has lasted me quite a while now and it still lights up well. There's only one problem with it, however, but this may just be this particular keyboard. At times (not often, maybe two-three times before), the USB cable would stop working and the keys wouldn't work at all. The power is on because the blue light is on, but I cannot type anything. This is the only issue I see with this product and I'm sure for many others, this problem wouldn't occur often at all.

The best part about this keyboard is the silence from typing. These keys are incredibly quiet, which is especially nice since I hate hearing keyboard 'clicking' sounds.
