4 out of 5 stars Fun   September 2, 2008
I enjoy this game and I think its for both adults and kids. Its easy to do a crossword puzzle after doing it a few times. The only problem I have with the game is no matter what you try, you cannot get a K. I tried a Q instead and I believe that worked. The Wordsearch is easy but can get annoying with the set up. Anagrams are just plain easy. So all in all, its a great game. Just wish they could make the letter K easier.

4 out of 5 stars A good game.   August 29, 2008
I have to admit it is a little easy for me but as I play it is building in difficulty. I really like it though, like the fact that the letters are large and it seems to recognize the printing or writing that I do. Easy to pick up and start and put down without losing a lot of information. It has a few types of word games: Crossword puzzle, Word search, and another that you make words up out of letters. I like them all, but then I am a big 'word game' fan. I also think these types of games keep the old noggin' working and that is good. I give it only 4 stars instead of 5 due to the fact that I have been having to go through a lot of really easy, non-challenging games to get to the tougher ones. However, that would be a plus for smaller children.

5 out of 5 stars Enjoyable And Easy To Play Game   August 26, 2008

I bought this game strictly for the easier crosswords, but soon started dabbling with the other games - Wordsearch and Anagrams.

Much to my complete surprise I got hooked on the Wordsearch games and what makes it so surprising is that I never liked Wordsearch games before! In the magazines, I hated these things! But I really like this!

I find that the touch screen is more responsive and recognizes the letters easier than some of the other DS games that use this lettering on the touch screen.

I also like "The New York Times Crosswords" game, but this game is great if you just want to sit back, relax and play at an easier pace.

It's staying in my stash of games permanently.

I enjoy doing crosswords and word searches and this game meets my expectations. The Anagrams can be a little difficult at times, but still makes the game fun.

3 out of 5 stars A decent crossword game...for kids   August 10, 2008

It's important to understand that this game seems to have been designed specifically for kids. It starts with very simple 4x4 grids, with mostly fill-in-the-blank clues, and progresses to more difficult, though still pretty basic crossword styles. It also includes a couple other word-based games (anagrams and word-searches) that are similarly geared toward younger users.

The handwriting recognition is only fairly accurate - about the same as Brain Age. The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, though not particularly conducive to fast puzzle solving.

If you are looking for a more challenging crossword game - as you would find in a newspaper, for example - check out the New York Times Crossword Puzzles, also for the Nintendo DS.
