5 out of 5 stars Sonic Mega Collection Plus Perfection   October 16, 2005
4 out of 6 found this review helpful

These the games i longed play when i was a child & still love,
unlike the Sonic Gems Collection.

This actually gives a value of Perfect Classic

Sonic 1:the 1st start of history of Sonic The Hedgehog,Springs,Rings,Special Stages & Good fun.

Sonic 2: Tails"Miles"Prower was introduced,SpinDash,Debug,
Super Version of Sonic (Tails With Debug),2-Player Mode & Silver Sonic

Sonic 3 & Knuckles(why do both seprate when ya can do it as one game):Insta-Shield,Tails can actually FLY,Kunckles was introduced,Super,Hyper & Turbo Version of (Super Sonic & Knuckles,Hyper Sonic & Knuckles & Turbo Tails),Bonus Games (like the 3D Stages,GumBall Machine & Anti-Gravity Sping Game)
(i know i 4got the name) & Mecha Sonic.

Sonic 3D Blast: Isomatic of View,Medium GamePlay (yet interesting fun),cool 3D lookin boards.

Sonic SpinBall: The 1st & the only pinball with a twist, diffcult gameplay,(yet so dang fun at the same time),got some Sonic The Hedgehog's Pals in there like Princess Sally,Antoine,Rotor & much more.

Blue Sphere: Just the like the 3D Bonus version of Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Knuckles is Sonic 2: Just in Sonic's 2 Gameplay, except he can't jump as high as sonic, which make it very diffcult in The Final Stage against Silver Sonic & Dr Robotnik.

Dr Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine: A Teris-type,ya can go against: Grounder,Scratch,CoCoNuts & Dr. Robotnik & many his robotic schemes.

Sonic Game Gear Games:

Sonic 1 (G.G. Version) kinda outdated, just plain game,it was supposed to older than the 1 on Genesis

Sonic Chaos: it is the best game out of Game Gear games (maybe except Sonic Triple Trouble.)Nack the Weasel was introduced. With Sonic,ya get to have the Special Stages,Chaos Emeralds (Sadly no Super Sonic) & Too Bad for Tails,he don't get crap,at least he much easier than Sonic.

Sonic Drift (Which was release in Japan) was a good drivin game, sadly bad graphics,it was very fun to drive.

Sonic Blast: was the last Game Gear Game out of that system,it feature Sonic & Knuckles. it has good Graphics for a Game Gear,it's the updated version of Sonic 2 (G.G.).

Sonic LabyRinth: one the worst game ever, such a cheap version of Sonic 3D Blast,So tedious to play.

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (G.G.): it actually plays just like Genesis Version, except much weaker & just look at Genesis Version Review.

UnlockAble Games:
Flicky: it's ok,not much good tho
RiStar: Information Unknown
Comix Zone: Information Unknown
The Ooze: Information Unknown

The Overall: it's some flaws, other than that it's Perfect

5 out of 5 stars My prayers have been answered...   September 6, 2005
All my favorite classic Sonic games, on one disc, for only [unit price]... yes, someone up there likes me.

Rest assured, all of the games on here are unchanged, they are just as you remember. You even get Game Gear games!

I'm not going to review any of the games because if you're looking at this page, it's a pretty safe bet that you're more than familiar with them. So if you are, and you have a PS2, GET THIS. 'Nuff said.

5 out of 5 stars Brings back memory!   August 16, 2005

I grew up playing Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo, and Sonic The Hedgehog has got to be one of my favorite games for the Genesis. So this game is perfect for me, all of the classic games are back, so I'll be playing it for hours and hours.

The game play is fast and smooth, nothing hard or mysterious to figure out. There is no puzzles to solve, no reading and no delay, just fast pace and rolling fun. The graphics are what you would expect from Sonic and the 16-bit era, colorful and so 2 dimensional graphics, great sounds and music also.

Overall you get the whole package, classic Sonic gameplay for many many many hours of fun.

5 out of 5 stars Yes! This is great!   June 30, 2005

When I was younger, I played the sonic games on genesis and when our genesis broke, it made me really upset. The sonic games are the best games I've ever played and will keep you entertained when you are bored. When I saw it for sale for PS2 I was so excited and bought it. I brought it home and loved it! Just like the old one! The only thing that upseted me was that they didn't include Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Sonic 2 & Knuckles. I think that they should come out with more sonic games for PS2 and one game should have Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic 2 & Knuckles. Overall, this game is great! I would definatly buy more PS2 sonic games if they came out. All sonic fans, will love this!

4 out of 5 stars A classic that will collect dust fast and you know it   June 11, 2005

First off Sonic is iconic and equal to Mario in every regard except he doesn't have a console to call home.

Now lets be realistic, this pre-Dreamcast Sonic collection is not going to have you glued to the screen for long. I'm not saying these games blow, they don't they are awesome. I'm saying do you know why your parents listen to the oldies? It's because the music reminds them of when they were younger, and most of the gamers who remember these games are my age so I know you guys grew up playing Sonic. So while just the thought of playing these games sounds enticing it will wear off. Trust me, when I popped this baby in my PS2 I instantly began strolling down memory lane. I remember coming home from school and doing my homework as quickly as possible just so I could do a spin dash. Now 7 months later I have a total of about 7 hours of game play on this joker. All I can ask myself is "how come I didn't put that $20 in my gas tank?"

Do yourself a favor and rent this one.
