Mine's more than a year old and I'm buying more for Christmas gifts November 17, 2008 I bought mine more than a year ago and use it almost daily. Lately my husband and son have "discoved" mine and are constantly asking to borrow it. I bought cheaper mp3 players for neices last year and was disapointed in the feel of those. They were lightweight plastic and didn't have a backlight at all. This Sansa is nice weight, with a durable feel. After a year + of use it still functions like new. I'm very pleased with mine and the price is just right. The only down side that I have found is an operational error... when I lend it out, the borrowers don't always hold down the power button for the required 3-5 seconds and the battery is usually dead when I finally track it down and retreive it from them. This is the primary reason I'm getting them their own....
Love our Sansa November 16, 2008 I bought a Sansa 2gb MP3 player for my husband. He was surprised. He plays it all the time. He loves it.
Book marking would be a great addition November 16, 2008 Overall I am pretty pleased with the SanDisk m250 MP3 player. I use it primarily for listening to audio books and the radio while working outdoors. My only significant complaint is that I can't book mark my place when I interrupt listening. Audio books from the library download in parts that span an hour or more of playback and the m250 will only resume at the beginning of a part. This is not a big deal with songs. My m250 cost half as much as another player I was considering which did have book marking capabilities. The FM tuner seems to operate well and hold stations. This is my first experience with a MP3 player and I might upgrade in the future.
Very Cheap & Poor Sound Quality November 13, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this MP3 player because my iPod broke and I did not feel like spending $250 right away to get a new one. All I wanted to use this SanDisk for was working out at the gym, and listening to some music before sleep.
This product works fine at high volume in the gym setting, but the equalizer is crap. I use a nice pair of skullcandy headphones, and the music sounds like it is coming out of an extremely old set of speakers.
At low volume, there is this very irritating buzz that interferes with the music, probably because the MP3 decoder that the device uses is crap.
Bottom line - The product sucks if you are used to listening to high quality MP3's above 128kbits. All of my music is at 256K or higher, and it just sounds like crap. I only use this device in the gym where I play it very loud, which drowns out the annoying buzz that you typically hear at low volume. You get what you pay for with this device.
Great little device, but no fast forward November 12, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was so excited to get this device for audio books. I was very disappointed when I started a book and found that if I stopped mid-chapter, I could not get back to my place. It's a big problem when the "chapter" is an hour long and I've listened to 40 minutes of it! I either have to start over, skip the last 20 minutes, or let it run and set a timer to pick it up at the right spot. Not very convienent. Great sound, easy to load with music...would be fantastic if I only wanted to listen to music!
