5 out of 5 stars The Game will make you pee   November 18, 2008
This game is soooooooo unbelievably awesome. It's one of the best Monster/Zombie type shooter games there is. Take the movies/Games: Alien, Event Horizon, Resident Evil, & Silent Hill, stick them in a blender, and out will come Dead Space.

Everything that annoyed you about Silent Hill & Resident Evil, doesn't even remotely exist in this game. You'll get so deep into the story, and looking around, concentrating on what's where, then out of nowhere, something this jump up, scream and scare the living crap out of you.

It really makes you fee like you're IN the game!

In my opinion, there are 3 games for PS3 that make it worth having a PS3: LittleBigPlanet, Dead Space, & PAIN!

For anyone who is looking for a gift for someone who likes zombies, shooters, aliens, monsters or WHATEVER... no need to think about it. This will be the best thing they got for their PS3.

5 out of 5 stars RE in Space   November 18, 2008
i been playing these game with friends and let say every weekend, is SURVIVAL WEEKEND.
this game has the creepiness, the scares, and yes, the nasties buggers you ever wanted to kill cause if you don't, it get messy.
this game plays you in the the dark, with the right background sounds to add creepiness.
the action is fast and the dread is deep.
you want your adradalin pumping and the feel of actually playing Alien in the game, buy this puppy.
btw, sleep tight if you can afterwards, BWAHAHAHA

4 out of 5 stars Things that go bump in space   November 17, 2008
I really must say that I had begun to doubt the horror genre could produce much more than cheap thrills until I laid my eyes upon Dead Space. The game sets the tone immediately with come-and-go lighting, eerie sounds and the scurrying of feet in ceiling panels above you. The only consolation is the awesome arsenal of weaponry at your character's disposal, which just happens to produce awesomely gory results. I would definitely say the game is best played in the silence of a darkened room with ear phones to cut out all outside interruptions. It was be beneficial to check out the graphic novel series available for free download on PSN and Xbox Live.

4 out of 5 stars Great Game   November 17, 2008
One of the funnest games I've played yet this year. Not perfect but overall a really good experience Up there with some of the best graphics you'll find on the PS3 or X360. Great art design. Much of the style is similar to other science fiction works but with innovations of its own. Gameplay is unique: not your traditional zombie game where headshots and decapitaions will stop enemies. Instead you must dismember them with an intersting set of weapons ranging from a pulse rifle to a futuristic chain saw. All weapons and suits are upgradable too which just adds another level of coolness. Great sound and decent voicework which lends to a somewhat interesting story. Game falls a little short here though, the story could be a little more fleshed and make more sense to really create a deep world. Ending of the game is a little anticlimactic. Great buy here. Downloadable content also available!

4 out of 5 stars Very fun, but short and easy, game   November 16, 2008
This game is very entertaining to play, yet very easy to beat. While also being a quick play, I've beat it three times in about two weeks. I at first didn't think it would have much replay value, but it does hold some. But not as much as other games have in the past (such as DOOM, Golden Eye, etc). I would give it a lower rating for this, but I had too much fun the first time I played it. As others have noted, it is rather creepy at first though IMO this wears off after a short time. Additionally, I found the gun selection to be rather quite limited. The only guns I found myself using were the Plasma Cutter, Line Gun and Force Gun (and this one only for the small little critters that were hard to kill otherwise). The other guns were rather useless for my tastes. So needless to say, I'd like to see better guns in the sequel.

If you're the type of gamer that replays First Person Shooters, this game will likely be something you won't regret owning. However, if you don't I would recommend only renting this game.

All in all a fun game that doesn't really bring anything exceptionally new to the genre, but entertaining for the brief time it takes to swing through a campaign.

Oh, and one last thing, the graphics in this game are quite good. Toward the end of the game after dropping off the marker at it's destination, there is a sand storm that is quite a feet for gaming.
