4 out of 5 stars Great overall, but!   November 12, 2008
Great game overall, but has to many issues for a game that has been produced 4 times before. For an internet based only game, this Socom has an unacceptable amount of bugs and latency issues. I am very, very dissapointed with the issues of this game, coming from a Socom fanatic.
Word from the customer if a designer happens to read this is... GO BACK TO USING SOCOM-II LAYOUT, from friend list and tracking them to lobby viewing and etc. It's has been a downward fall since Socom-II. I sure almost everyone will agree with me on this statement.

5 out of 5 stars I Don't Like it   November 3, 2008

Bad to force players to play online only. Worse to force players to play online with people whom they don't know. Worst to force people to listen to profanity while playing online with people whom they don't know.

In conclusion, it was entirely my own fault for NOT reading the label carefully which says on the front of the package "Multiplayer Online Only".

If you like this game, pick up my copy at Game Stop as USED. Mine is a bargain as it is only two hours old.........

1 out of 5 stars What Happened To SOCOM?   November 2, 2008
this new "socom" has nothing to offer! no single player. the friends and clan list are stupid(you cant join from someones name).
downloading updates take too long. the maps are too big. but they did bring back crossroads, frostfire and DD so thats an A+. it still lags like crazy. after so many years of waiting, all i got was a REMAKE of socom but without the socom feel.

1 out of 5 stars La peor version de SOCOM que hay   November 2, 2008
0 out of 1 found this review helpful

1 out of 5 stars If only there was such a thing as 0 stars   October 30, 2008
Ok I didn't buy this game from an retailer like most of you did. My dumb behind downloaded it from the PSN. NEVER AGAIN!! First off, they don't tell you that once you download it to your system that you would be the only person playing it online, so forget it if you have like 2 or 3 other user names on your system. They each have to download it themselves if they want to play. Another way for Sony to rake in the dollars.

After downloading which took about 30 minutes it was time for two updates to install which took almost 2 hours because it kept kicking me offline everytime it tried to update. If that wasn't bad enough, it took me almost another two hours just to get online to play my first game.

Trust me, no game is worth this much headache, bad news for me I can't resell, but I'll always read the reviews before buying another game. I'm hoping Resistance 2 doesn't come with this much headache cause I'm so looking forward to that one.
