Enhanced Tag-Team Matches and Other New Match Types
Tag Team matches are emphasized in Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, and there are many new additions to make the game more realistic and fun. Players can now perform double teams on opponents, such as having one player hold an opponent against the ropes while on the apron, or pulling down on ropes while an opponent is running to send them out of the ring. And there are now different ways of tagging in, such as the forced blind tag and reversible hot tag. Teams also get team-specific finishing moves that are incredibly satisfying to perform.

In addition to tag matches, there are 14 one-on-one match types including the Inferno, Gauntlet, Falls Count Anywhere, Steel Cage and Ladder matches, and even a Backstage Brawl.

Road to Wrestlemania Mode
The single player Road to Wrestlemania mode offers a deep and diverse story line that is filled with brand defections, team building, and strategic alliances. You can choose from Triple H, CM Punk, The Undertaker, John Cena, and Chris Jericho to play in this single-player mode. There is also a story line for co-operative play, in which players control Batista and Rey Mysterio. The story lines are so custom tailored and well done that you might find them more compelling than what you see on television.

WWE fans and fighting game fans alike will both love this latest game, giving them a chance to grapple as their favorite superstars.

3 out of 5 stars A let down   November 16, 2008

I've been reading updates on this game from the time it was mentioned, I knew about the 6 specific storylines, but what I didn't know was how short they would be. The HHH story is the best, followed by Chris Jerico. They said it would have co op game play which was alot of hype. The only co op story is batista and mysterio. They said you could edit your roster even move titles which from what I see is mainly for our own imagination. I mean you edit the roster but can't do anything with it except wish the next game will let you do the same and test it out. The lack of GM mode is such a let down, the career mode it not what they said it would be. the create a finisher could had more options. I rented this game and only did the road to wrestlemania stories, oh how mush fun it was to play 6 stories and unlock who "mask man" and "tony", not. I will not be buying this game, and I would not recomend that any one esle does. It's good enough just renting it. camera angles suck, stories lack, roster come on, half the people are gone and there are no ledgends. I'll continue on 2008's GM mode.

2 out of 5 stars SvR09 Feedback   November 16, 2008
I must say I have bought every SvR series except 08 and I must admit this 09 version is horrible. From the camera angle to in-game play. I think I will continue to play my 07 version and sell this one soon. They boasted about how great this game was going to be and it's horrendous. The create a finisher is ok, but overall I must say the ECW weapons matches are ok. But as for the controls and camera angles, they could have improved it more.

2 out of 5 stars SVR 2009 is HORRIBLE   November 15, 2008

I just got this game it completely sucks!!! You cant even do what they said about co-op career mode on it! And reg. career has no storyline at all its very similar to the 2008 wii version. But the exibition is fun but do not buy this product.

3 out of 5 stars Story's are to short   November 12, 2008

I only have a few things against this game. First, you can only use 5 wrestlers in the "Road to Wrestlemania" Triple H, Undertaker, CM Punk, Jericho and Mysterio/Batista (Together) I bought this game Monday evening and have already finished 4 of the 5 story modes. When you start a RTWM you don't start out right after mania like in the past games, you start out a month or so before the Royal Rumble and go from there to Wrestlemania. From the ones I've played so far only the Triple H one was sort of exciting to me, Cena's was WAY Stupid so was Jericho's.
There are TONS of codes out for the game, you have two STUPID ppl added to your list of wrestlers when you complete Jericho and Cena's RTWM. a Army guy named Tony and a guy named Masked Man....GAY
Other then that i do like alot of the new wrestlers and holds on the game. I recommend renting this game before you buy it. Oh and one last negative thing about the game, it is Super easy to win matches in story mode, Nothing has really changed since last years game. The controls, feel and everything is the same. Only differance is the sort of updated list of wrestlers and the Inferno Match.
