The G-Pak is almost there. October 19, 2008 This case is light and fairly well designed. Although it's listed as a Playstation 3 G-pak, it's actually a universal case according to the information in the case itself. The only notable "flaw" that I found is there is no good way to store 2 controllers. You can get them in by loading them in front of the main Playstation 3 unit, but there should be a designated area for them. However, when you consider cost and quality, this case is just fine.
Good case August 19, 2008 Over all this is a good sturdy carrying case. The PS3 fits well in it and the Velcro straps keep it in. You can put four controllers in the top pocket, but there is no room to spare. I put my cords in the case after zipping it up most of the way. The two main grips I have with this case are One- the air is some what restricted while the PS3 is in the case so I always take it out. And Two- I don't like the disk holder. I think that it is a good as they can make it given the case and the fact that it will be in several potions but I have had my disks fall out a couple of times. Overall this is a good case that will serve you well.
Great Case for travelers minus some falls August 18, 2008 I bought this case so I could transfer my beloved PS3 from my university (UC Berkeley) all the way down to LA. the case itslef is built very well and looks great! Contrary to what others say it DOES come with a very sturdy shoulder strap with small pad.
One main perk of the case is that it DOES NOT SAY sony or ps3 anywhere! I have quite a walk from my train stop to my apartment and not showing some punk kids what exactly i am carrying is a huge plus.
The main accessory pocket is fully velcro and is tough as nails. It is easy to access and has plenty of room for two controllers, PSP case, WMD case, 1ft HDMI cable, USB cable, and power cable.
The units idea is apparant as a Go-Play package. The vents on the sides and velcro flap bottom make it easy to hook up to any tv without taking the ps3 out. I personally dont do it myself but for some it may be a great idea.
I have already traveled with this case as a carry on from LAX to SFO and its awesome. The ps3 was secure and the flaps holding my game discs never budged.
The reason for the 4 stars is as follows,
1) There are only two straps securing the ps3. Now these straps are like rubber bands in the sense that the tighter you stretch them the more secure the ps3. The only problems is there is only about 2 inchs of velcro on the tips making proper tightening impossible! You have to settle for "Medium-tight" with the two straps.
2) The straps them selves are places to wide apart. The one closer to the face of the system slides off due to the contoure of the ps3! Now you got only one strap securing the ps3!
3) The final little problem is like others have mentioned. The straps scratch the ps3 surface a tiny bit. I simply solved this by placing the units in the thin foam material it was packaged in while in the original box.
The verdict: I would recommend this case to a friend as it serves its purpose very well. Again i have already traveled with it and it worked great. My initial fears of the velcro straps faded away when the ps3 barely budged through out the trip. The velcro bottom as some people worry about it not a problem! the opening is too small for the ps3 to "slip out" so even if you open the heavy duty velcro the ps3 is fine!
As of 8/18/08, this is the best case for the ps3 and it carrys a great price!
absolutely perfect carrying case July 14, 2008 i bought this case because i needed a portable/transportable carrying case for my PS3. since i bought it my PS3 has not left the "safety" of the case and with proper care my PS3 has no scratches, dings, or even running problems like some people claim to have with their PS3. this case is perfect for quick plug and play as per the access flap on the rear. i keep thinking that because the flap is latched by velcro that the bottom will fall out and my PS3 will drop out of the case but it has yet to happen and carry it back and forth everyday! the fabric that this product is made of is very durable and can withstand much abuse without getting even so much as a tear.
i say this is the carrying case to get if you travel with your PS3 quite often.
Good Purchase June 9, 2008 I recommend this case because it offers great protection for the PS3. If you travel or move a lot, and you need to take your PS3, you should not do without this case. There was plenty of room for all accessories, and the case keeps the system pretty well secure after using the straps. I recommend this item to protect your precious investment!
