3 out of 5 stars A Snoozer   August 27, 2008
I grew up during Aerosmith's revival after the "Walk this Way" remake and while never a big fan, I liked them well enough to pick this game up.

As others have said, the song choices are really bad. I never thought I would get bored while playing GH, but especially during the early stages the songs not only are easy to play, they are boring to listen to. For the most part, the non-Aerosmith songs are more fun than those from the band the game is named after.

The graphics are good enough, but you'd think they could have at least added more new quotes for the splash screens between songs. I do think the band's video intros to each stage was a nice touch.

3 out of 5 stars Not up to par   August 26, 2008
When I heard that Aerosmith was going to be involved with the next Guitar Hero game, I was pretty excited. I have several Aerosmith CDs from the Geffen days (Pump, Permanent Vacation, Get a Grip), and their greatest hits album. I considered myself a fan. Too bad few of my favorite songs made it into the game. Instead we are treated to Cheap Tricks, Dream Police..........ugh. King of Rock by Run DMC is an OK song, it just doesn't translate over to Guitar Hero very well. Even the good songs aren't that fun to play. The keystrokes aren't layed out very well. Where in past games, you kind of got the feeling that you were playing the song, ie Mississippi Queen, and Pride and Joy, in this one you just feel like you are hitting buttons. There isn't a nice flow. If you play GH you know what I am talking about. This game isn't all bad. Wii owners will be pleasantly surprised to see that the graphics have been upgraded, and this one is in stereo. I never really noticed on GH3 but evidently not being in stereo got alot of people bent. I would love to give this game my whole hearted recommendation but alas I can only say that it wasn't a total waste of money. I think I will put GH3 back in and wait till Christmas when my son opens his Rock Band. Can't wait!

1 out of 5 stars do not waste your money... not fun at all... there is one, two at best songs worthwhile.   August 23, 2008

3 out of 5 stars Should of had better songs   August 18, 2008
Like other reviewers have said this game is pretty much Guitar Hero 3, with Aerosmith characters and stage designs. For the non-Aerosmith songs, you play the same characters as in Guitar Hero 3.

Which would have been fine if they had better songs. Most of the Aerosmith songs in the early stages of the game are rare songs that never get played on the radio. You would have thought if they were trying to promote the band to a new audience, they would have picked more popular songs.

The songs by the other bands are OK, except I would have picked "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" by the Clash, and "I Love Rock And Roll" by Joan Jett instead of the songs they picked. These are the songs I would have picked by Aerosmith:

Nimpuc:
Make It (because it says "Welcome to the show")
Back In The Saddle
Dream On

Max's KS:
No Surprise (because it's about Max's)
Mama Kin
Draw The Line

The Orpheum:
Sweet Emotion
Last Child
Toys In The Attic

Half Time Show:
Walk This Way (with Run DMC)
Ragdoll
Young Lust

Hall Of Fame:
Joe Perry Guitar Dual
Love In An Elevator
Let The Music Do The Talking
Train Kept A Rollin'

The Vault:
Same Old Song and Dance
Pandora's Box
Walk This Way
Rats In The Cellar
Kings And Queens
Dude Look's Like A Lady
Living On The Edge
Pink
Don't Want To Miss A Thing
Jaded
