Product Description
FIFA 08 on the Wii makes it easy for the whole family to play and enjoy football with a flick of the wrist. Featuring superstar Ronaldinho as the first football player created as a unique and playable mini character, you'll experience soccer in a videogame like you never have before. In the main game, pass, shoot, and perform trick moves with amazing control, all with a flick of the wrist. The all-new unique Footii Party with Ronaldinho mode introduces three party games featuring Ronaldinho as his own unique avatar. Play Juggling, Table Football and Boot It with your self-created Mii character to unlock Ronaldinho and take on the champ. Use motions to control everything from tackling to shooting and throw-ins to freekicks. Send the ball exactly where you intended with a wave of the Wii remote and Nunchuk. The in-game Football Academy teaches basic and advanced controls in more than 30 interactive tutorials until you've mastered the FreeMotion controls and all the necessary movements to dominate on the pitch. Win glory for your club: mesmerize defenders with authentic individual skill, dictate the play with all-new controls for through-passing and crossing, or control your goalkeeper in one-on-one situations to deny an onrushing striker. Intelligently manage your club by preparing for each specific opponent using new custom formations. Design your own unique strategy to create the perfect formation and tactics. Assign roles and move players to the exact position in relation to team-mates to undermine the opposition. With licenses for all of the world's top leagues, over 570 licensed teams and more than 14,000 players, FIFA 08 delivers an authentic soccer experience like no other. Go online with your favorite team to challenge a rival squad one-on-one. Represent your club online against your rivals throughout the season in the F.A. Premier League ESRB Rated E for Everyone

5 out of 5 stars When you master the controls, you will love it!   June 27, 2008

I think it is unfair for the people who only rented this game to state that this is a bad game. You need to master the controls before you can enjoy the real fun.
At the beginning, it is really hard to shoot by swinging the remote, you always want to push a button, I know. But after practice, you will get used to it and love it. In a situation that you can either pass the ball or shoot, you can easily achieve what you want to do without worrying about smashing the wrong button.
Playing against computer is boring after a while. You should play online with anyone or play with friends locally. I have friends coming over when we got time and can easily play hours without a break. There are so many teams you can choose and you can unlock two great teams.
I think the game runs really smooth and playing it is rewarding when you grasp the control, trust me, you will love it.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointment   June 26, 2008

I am really in to soccer and I was absoloutely sure I wanted this game. Then I rented it and could barely get through playing it once. It was that boring. I was just running around the whole time with a couple kicks. It was hard to find the ball first of all, because if you miss the ball once, you have to run after it, but the opponent has already kicked it to the next player. Also, the game can be fun a couple times, but nothing changes as you keep playing. No unlockables or anything, so if you buy this game, you'll only end up playing it once or twice cause it's the same experience every time. The only reason I'm giving this game two stars instead of one is that a soccer wii game is a good idea. Overall, fun for a few seconds but a drag for the rest.

5 out of 5 stars FOR THE LOVE OF SOCCER   April 12, 2008

Great game!! I bought this for my 9 yr old son for his Wii. He'd been playing his other soccer games for playstation, this is his first "bought" game outside of the games that come with the bundle. He said it is a little more difficult than the playstation (controls), but he picked up on it pretty quick. I would definately recommend.
