Product Description Go back one year from the events of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. In Clear Sky, a group of stalkers has reached the heart of the Zone - Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. An immense blowout of anomalous energy changes the Zone. There are no more reliable and relatively safe roads. Entire levels vanish in the outbursts of anomalies. Stalkers and even expeditions die or end up sealed on the lost territories. New areas, which remained unknown since the time of the Zone emergence, appear on the Zone map. Changes of the Zone map known to stalkers shake the fragile balance of forces in the Zone. Among the groupings, there flare up hostilities for the new territories, artifact fields and spheres of influence. Everyone is now out for himself. You are a mercenary who appeared at the edge of the opposition between stalker factions, Strelok and the Zone itself. You play the key role in the events that led to creation of the Zone up to the point from which the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game begins. Which faction will take the upper hand?

High expectations October 7, 2008 I loved the first STALKER so much I had to buy this one. The graphics are maginal at best because it uses DX-10 and I was hard pressed to see mych improvement over the others graphics. The weapon customization is an awsome addition an adds replayability. The story line is a twist because in the first one you are Strelock and in this one you are hunting him. The maps and graphic content is what put a drag on this game. Crysis, Farcry 2, and Call of Duty 4 kill this game in graphics quality. Also I felt like I was playing the first STALKER until I got to the Red Forest where the maps changed.
Clear Sky a bit cloudy October 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Again, a potentially great game made mediocre by appalling bugs and balancing issues. I am getting thoroughly fed up with developers shoving out games without proper beta testing. We know it can be done, so there's really no excuse. This game has been virtually unplayable for me even with patching, including a bug that prevents the game from being able to be completed, no matter what I try. You are continually jarred out of immersion in the game by bugs, AI inconsistancies and crashes that make the experience frustrating and simply not fun. I am now unlikely to purchase another title from these developers.
Shadow of original game October 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I liked original game alot despite frequent crashes but new one is almost unplayable.you need to save every minute or you lose your progress.Game is so buggy that I can not understant how was it possible to send it to print, seem like russian revenge for lost cold war.Graphics are great but story line is weak and short, few quest I could not even complete are wortless before you realize it is all over.Another lousy attempt to rework existing files and bilk gamers extra $40,I am really disapointed.I have good machine e8600 4gb ddr3 and 4850 in crossfire and game looks very nice but left me with bad taste anyway.
Deep Silver is a joke. bring back THQ September 30, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
like a lot of the other reviews, i am a huge fan of the first Stalker. ive played through it more times than i care to admit and loved every second. a few glitches and on rare occasion a crash, but completely worth it.
Clear sky, however, is an absolute programming disaster. i have had to restart the game 6 times now because of game ending crashes. they come without warning, without explanation and worst of all, they happen again even if you reload, reboot, reinstall, or reupdate. it crashes either in the same place or shuts down the program a certain amount of time after you reload, like some sort of time bomb. one time it crashed whenever a certain unimportant NPC died, regardless of what area i was in. this is COMPLETELY unacceptable. how can a company release a game that you cant even finish? especially after 3 release date delays??? while it's running, its a great game and, in my opinion, just as fun as the original stalker game, if not more. but that's if you can keep it running. i built my own system and can run it at the highest settings and it looks incredible. the dynamic lighting is better than anything i've ever seen in a game.... for the five minutes that it stays up. buy this game if you don't mind waiting until they release enough patches to work out the horrendous first round of programming that went into the game. like i said: if it stays up, it's a fantastic buy. if it does what it has done to me, you will want to tear your hair out and/or murder the people who gave this game the ok for release.
This Could have been a great game September 23, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
S.T.A.L.K.E.R:Clear Sky Could have been a great game. The reason I thought it was only a OK game was because it was very demanding on my system, it was full of bugs. The Game crashes alot. I lost all my saved games after patching the game. I am not going to remove it from my sysmtem yet. I hope CGS and THQ fix this game, then i'll give it another try.
