Play until the cows come home!!!!! September 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I find my self playing this game at all hours (2:00 am to 4:00am) on a weekday. And I stll go to work early but not to tired. This game is very hard to quit playing. It may be a kids game, so I guess I'm a big kid.
I'M HOOKED!!!! February 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
31, Female Barnyard junkie. 52 , Male Barnyard addicted. 14, Female Barnyard freak. 21, Male Barnyard expert. I rented this because of the fun-looking games on the back of the box...little did I know how the next 2weeks of my life would change. We play ALL the time. The missions for the cows are so exciting. Some are challenging, which make it very frustrating, but oh such a feeling of accomplishment when you finish! The music is great and the scenes are beautiful. I have to go now to play, sorry.
Kind of Funny January 8, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
my 4yr old played it and liked it - rented it for a week - and so i think i could be something for a b-day gift - the cow walks around doing things all day, collecting food for recipes for the pig to cook, and money to go buy things from the gophers for the party in the barn at night....i agree that the mini tasks are a little hard for the kids but i got mine thru them.
Fun for kids and beginners December 1, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This game is based on the movie 'Barnyard' and you play a new cow who enters a farm and befriends other animals by doing tasks for them and partying with them. There is a huge farm in which you can roam around and as in many other games, you gain access to different areas as you complete 'missions', some of them as dumb as just finding stuff around, as fun as squirting milk on other animals and targets and as active as mud jumping, bike races, chicken chase or apple shooting. None of the missions are seriously challenging, but quiet a few are fun for kids and beginners. If you are a serious action gamer, stay away from this game.
Some cons: - The voice for characters is poorly done. They speak only the first sentence and the rest you have read by pushing the A button. I didn't like this and neither did my five year old. - I think the controls could have been better or more options be given. For simple actions performed in this game, it is a bit too much to use both the wiimote and the nunchuck. There is no option (atleast that i know of) to use just the wiimote analog controls which would have been less strenuos on the little kid's hands.
Over all, it is a fun game for the price!
Good choice for 8+ years July 9, 2007 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
My two girls (8 & 10) play this a fair bit (almost as much as Mario Party). Doing wheelies everywhere on the bike is a favorite. Some of the mini-games are initially "too hard", but eventually they get through them, and are very pleased with themselves.
It has exploration, collection, cooking, slapstick, and puzzles. You have to "get past" the milk-squirting imagery, and the fact that both genders have udders, but that was inherited from the movie itself. It works best to use the nunchuck, but there is a wii-mote only option.
