What's so bad about this??? October 7, 2008 I had pre-ordered this in June for my brother's birthday in July it was delayed into August and then September, but I got email notifications each time. I also go a notification for the $5.00 promotion with the message that they will not be carrying the item. My guess for this decision would be repeated failure by the manufacturer to deliver the product as agreed.
To make up for the horrid inconvenience they offered it for the same price as the other ones would have been regularly. Yes it is more than the $19.99 that I originally reserved 1 for, but I'm now getting 2 of them, dropping the price to about $15 each, and they look cooler. I do not see a problem with this, because Amazon is not the ultimate source of the problem, if you're going to be mad and boycott something why not the manufacturer for not meeting demand?
Not as bad as it sounds October 2, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Although I was disappointed by the lack of availability, I think the previous reviews are unfounded. Amazon has always honored prices even when there supplier increases the cost. The issue here isn't bait 'n switch, but lack of product availability. Originally this product was due to be released in mid-August. It's now October. So Amazon has given it's customers a sweeter deal to make up for the delay. The ThrustMaster Sabers have a better design. My original order for two of the Glo Swords was $39.98. Now I get two ThrustMaster sabers for $29.99. I don't know what everyone is complaining about.
Amazon delays order a few times now deletes my order w/o notification October 2, 2008 0 out of 11 found this review helpful
I purchased 2 of these items at $19.99 which though available in stores was delayed multiple times by amazon. After checking today, i see that the order no longer exists in my account. I was given no notice of any update. If amazon does not set things straight, i will ask for a refund of my amazon prime membership as well since I will no longer be shopping at amazon.com.
'bait and switch' tactic October 2, 2008 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a classic 'bait and switch' tactic. Same thing happened to me. Most stores that encounter this situation would give you the product upgrade at the same price as the original offer tendered. Do you think that will happen? Not holding my breath....
Very Unhappy! October 2, 2008 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is my first review. I am very unhappy with Amazon for the same reason as the previous reviewer. I pre-ordered three of these at $19.99 each, and was told after several weeks that they would not be available. Now they are $29.99. I purchased these in an order to receive a special offer also. Now, that has been removed. I ended up cancelling my whole order. I too was sent a coupon for $5 off a $34.99 product. I am suspicious about the unavailability of the products and will not be purchasing from Amazon.
