4 out of 5 stars Two boys' review: Fun for kids!   June 21, 2008

Do you have young children who love superheroes?

The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man and The Dark Knight (Batman) are all PG-13 rated movies. Of course, all of the merchandising (lunch boxes, PJs and toys) is aimed at young children. So, what's your options?

This Nintendo DS game is a perfect way to satisfy your child's hunger to be the Hulk without all of the inappropriate 'stuff' you'd find in a PG-13 movie.

The game stages are easy to explore and there are plenty of secret items to uncover, which makes additional trips through the game fun. The audio is great and varied enough not to annoying. This is a perfect adventure for a young child.

My only complaint is that the two-player mode (again!) requires two cartridges. At $30 each, I don't imagine too many parents are going to buy two Nintendo DS games just for two-player mode. So far, we've only found "Spider-Man: Friend or Foe" to be worthy of a second purchase for two-player mode.

Check out my Amazon Listmania List of DS games for young boys, too!

3 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not much to hold your interest   June 19, 2008

The movie tie-in to the Incredible Hulk arrives on the DS with some decent results, and while it ends up being the best version of the Incredible Hulk game from Sega, that isn't really saying all that much. Playing as Marvel's jade giant, you traverse 30 levels in this 2-D platformer, while smashing what you can get your hands on in sight and taking down baddies. The gameplay itself is pretty self-explanatory, and the game is also even pretty fun for a while as well. The game doesn't last too long though, but while it does, is a decently fun diversion. The graphics don't look too bad, and the game is easy to get the hang of too. However, the boss battles are lame, and overall the game is pretty easy to breeze through as well. There is a bit of replay value to be had though, as you can unlock extra skins, and there's a two-player mode to see who can cause the most damage as well. All in all, the DS version of The Incredible Hulk isn't bad and can hold your interest while it lasts, and is worth a rental at least for DS owning Hulk fans.
