Amazon.com The seventh season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is as solid as any of the series' previous years. The stories are strong, the actors share potent chemistry, and the characters are believable because they are flawed human beings. This year, CSI delves into the complicated romance between head investigator Gil Grissom (William Petersen) and his underling Sara Sidle (Jorga Fox). The two are reticent to let their colleagues in on their relationship, and the season finale offers a gasp-inducing prospect of their future together. Earlier on, though, there's even a bit of a triangle when Sara learns about Gil's prior romance with dominatrix Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke). The normally steely Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) faces her own dilemmas when she wakes up in a motel room, unsure if she has been sexually assaulted. And fellow CSI Greg Sanders (Eric Szmanda) finds himself the victim of a gang beating after he witnesses a brutal attack. In a nice homage to the Who--whose song "Who Are You" serves as the theme song for the series--singer Roger Daltrey makes a guest appearance in an episode called "Living Legend." Daltrey portrays a man who may or may not be responsible for a series of modern-day murders--even though he reportedly had died in the 1970s. The Who frontman, who has some acting credits under his belt, is perfect playing an enigmatic (and possibly crazy) man who is never quite what he seems. Throughout the season, Grissom and Co. are plagued by a serial killer who taunts the CSIs with clues left at the scene of the crime, whose calling card is a series of painstaking miniatures replicating his atrocities. The season finale deals with the Miniature Killer going after one of the CSIs. Whether the investigator lives or dies won't be known until the eighth season, but it's a breathtaking finale befitting this quality drama. --Jae-Ha Kim

A Return To The Good Stuff January 9, 2009 Craig Connell (Lockport, NY USA) Frankly, I had lost my interest in this show the past two years before this seventh season because I felt the show had gotten too freaky, too far out instead of just being the steady solve-the-crime(s) program it had been. Well, I gave this seventh season a look on DVD just the past few weeks and was rewarded big-time! This was the CSI I had known-and-loved from the first four years. The writers tried something brand new, and it worked. They had a serial killer story which stretched the entire season, a little bit at a time. It was the fascinating case of a person who created little "miniatures." You know, those tiny little replicas of rooms, whether in a house or a business, like an old-time soda shop. Only in these, the miniature scene was exactly how CSI workers found the real thing, complete with a murder victim! It was very well done, and you got just enough every few weeks to keep your interest while other crimes were being solved weekly by the team. Yes, "Catherine" had one rough episode, as did "Greg," but the "Grissom-Sidle" romance was hardly touched on and, unlike previous years, there were no soap opera episodes. This was a season for crime stories.....period, which is the way I like it. Overall, this has to be one of the finest, if not the best, season of this long-running program.
CSI 7th Season January 7, 2009 M. Todd (Chisago City, MN, USA) My daughter asked for this for 2 years in a row! Great price! Great communication! Speedy delivery! What else could anyone ask for?
interesting stories, still overly gory November 20, 2008 Molly Malin (Vermont) Not much difference in the early vs. late stories of the series. I still think they're interesting and the shows go by fast. I like the development of the characters over the life of the series, made me attached to them. The episodes still overly gory in my opinion, what is ever left to our imaginations these days? Having the dvd means I can fastforward through the gory parts and I don't have to sit through commercials. I am collecting the whole series on dvd.
Arguably the best season so far November 19, 2008 Valerie A. Iravani (San Marcos, CA USA) We have watched the season twice so far and love it - probably the best so far.
A MUST! November 2, 2008 K. Graver (Sellersville, PA) My daughter has all the seasons 1-8 on her list. She is majoring in the Sciences in college and took a forensics course and liked it! Thanks for a speedy delivery!
