Amazon.com Four episodes comprise the first season of the DL Chronicles, about black men "living in a gray area" between gay and straight, according to the narrator Chadwick Williams (Damian Raven). The drama is framed as if Williams, a journalist introduced in the first episode, is sharing each story to enlighten viewers to the complexities of being an out gay man in various African-American communities. The shows, titled "Wes," "Robert," "Boo," and "Mark," describe these men's sexual situations, ranging from complete cover-up to their near-comings out. Wes Thomas (Darren Schnase) is a married real estate banker whose infidelity is kept under tight wraps. Robert Hall (Terrell Tilford) falls in love with Austin (Kareem Ferguson), a local store manager, but is terrified of his daughter finding out. Boo is faced with homophobia and outright prejudice everywhere he turns, and becomes doubly anxious about AIDS. The last episode, "Mark," turns the series around, by showing an example of a man who has just decided to tell his family the truth. Overall, the series manages a careful balance of drama, including some steamy sex scenes, and educational content, to help viewers understand how hard it is for these men to fight for community acceptance. Furthermore, there are great humorous moments, such as when all the men and women who Boo has slept with flash before his eyes, to prevent the show from seeming didactic. All these characters who are keeping it on the "down low" have something to tell us about tolerance, as well as charm and wit. --Trinie Dalton

Nice Series But TOO SHORT November 25, 2008 Broderick C. Daniels (Fayetteville AR) There are only four episodes for this first season. I'm sure there is a logical reason for that but I was expecting at least 8. I guess it's no Noah's Arc but the production is actually very good. The actors are gorgeous and seem to be very professionnal. Boo is not as polished with his acting as the other characters but he is still FINE! Nice nude scenes too. It's not a waste of money at all. LOL. Maybe Season 2 will have more episodes. Maybe?
WOW. One terrific series!!! October 6, 2008 Bruce Lauton (NJ) Unigue storyline! It is difficult to be just gay, but the black/gay existence is kept so below the surface! It survives beautifully and one really cares about the characters and what they go through to be themselves. A wonderful series and so well acted!
Mind Blowing October 1, 2008 Bryan A. Bob-goldman I think these episodes were amazing. I watched all four and loved them. The story of Robert was my favorite. Boo was so real and really gave you a look into the possible mind and life of the "thug" DL man. The other stories were very funny and heart warming. The DL Chronicles are seriously the hot news of my dorm now because I keep telling people about it and they keep borrowing it. LUV THE DL CHRONICLES AND CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON 2.
DL Chronicles...I could take it or leave it September 16, 2008 Deetra S. Sallis (Rockford, IL) The Frist Season of DL Chronicles gives us a good insight of what some of our Brothers are up to but it still leaves us wondering why and how can I tell who belongs to this secret society. Additionally, this season was short. Good entertainment if your interest is in this area but it leaves you still needing answers to your questions.
Eye-opening!!! August 28, 2008 Rhonda L. Holiday This was an eye-opening experience. I truly enjoyed this movie and have encouraged a few girlfriends to watch too. Thanks.
