Serves the purpose November 22, 2008 The headset has a nice sound quality. I'm not an expert but if you just looking for a decent headset it will satisfy you. The microphone very clear and can be switched on or off. A volume regulation is attached to the cord.
Comfort and Bass Response vs Quality November 19, 2008 The comfort of this set for long periods of time is worth the shoddy craftsmanship.
The bass response is very good for the price of this pair.
They don't last long, a shorted wire will come about sooner or later, and most likely sooner. This pair wont last more than a year, and most likely only about 6 months.
I'm buying another set right now because my current one is shorted out on one side and I really can't wear anything else. Why companies decide to use vinyl instead of cloth for the ear pieces is beyond me.
Even when purchasing a $60-$100 pair of headphones, I encounter a shorted wire sooner or later.
Great comfort, great quality, and an even better price! November 8, 2008 Before I had purchased the GAMECOM headset, I had been using a cheap logitech headset, but I hated it because the backstrap was annoying, and it cut into my ears really bad. This headset doesn't bother my ears at all, its very comfortable. The mic quality is very good, I use it with Ventrilo and it works greak. The wind screen on the mic is a nice feature as well, it helps to block out other sounds besides your voice, such as your keyboard. The mike boom allows you to fold it all the way up so it aligns with the strap that goes around the top of your head, putting it out of your way which is really an awesome feature, especially if you just want to take a break from gaming or whatever and listen to some music. What REALLY surprised me when I plugged in this headset was the sound quality, if you play any of the battlefield or call of duty games, and you have a decent sound card, this headset will put you right in the middle of the battle, and this headset is just as awesome for listening to some music. It has some really great low end sounds which makes it even more enjoyable sniping people in CoD4 with your .50 cal.
Summary : Get this headset, you cannot beat all of these awesome features that you would expect from an expensive headset for just a low price. I really do not understand why some people gave this product a one star rating, maybe they got a faulty product or something, but mine worked really great.
Good price, good quality, and comfortable. November 4, 2008 This is the second set we own. First set had the wires sucked up by the vacuum and stopped working. They are comfortable with good sound, and we haven't had any other problems with them. We have a mac which requires USB, so we found a USB hub that converted it over to USB. After we got the second set, I took the first set apart and the wires broke free of the little circuit board in the volume control, so I soldered those back on and it's working again. We use them for an online class and a little gaming. I would buy these again, and I think they are the best headphones you can get for $20.
Perfect for World of Warcraft! October 17, 2008 I bought two of these headsets, one for myself and one for a friend, after reading some nightmare reviews about comfort and quality in other brands. So far we have used them every night for 2 weeks and they have been perfect. We play World of Warcraft together using the Teamspeak program and they are comfortable and do exactly what I needed them to. The sound quality is fine and the mics are pretty good too not to mention I can wear them for hours on end and not have any problems with my ears getting sore. The mic is adjustable if you are worried about the darth vader effect. Might not be as high quality as some other brands out there but for 20 bucks they definitely get the job done. If something goes wrong, rest assured that I would purchase this model again or at least an upgrade from the same company.
