3 out of 5 stars This can be very useful   December 3, 2007
This is not something you don't have to have but I myself have on and was very satasified with it, because when my Xbox was struct by lighting my games were all lost on the Xbox hard drive but I had them on my memory card and so when I got my new Xbox I still had my games that were saved. In my case the memory card proved very useful.

    4 out of 5 stars Actually has a use   March 14, 2002

In case you read the "unnecessary accessory", this does have a use. That use is simple and this "Matt Garber" overlooked it by accident and/or sheer willful bliss. It is NOT and archiving device and NOT meant to replace the xbox hard drive, it is ONLY 8 mb. "Matt Garber" obviously overlooked the simple fact that it transports your saves from one xbox to the next. You probably shouldn't buy it if you are a hermit with no xbox-owning friends. To set the record straight, it does it's job well, but it is just like the Nintendo 64 memory card; not required.

3 out of 5 stars Only buy this if you plan to play on several Xboxes   December 6, 2001

This is a neat but redundant accessory. The Xbox HAS a harddrive to store data on already. The only use that I can think of this would be if you were planning on playing the same game on a different Xbox. In that case, this accessory becomes a nifty 'floppy disk' to transfer the game data between Xboxes.

4 out of 5 stars OK BUY   December 4, 2001

I would like to start out that a memory card is a great purchacse for the X-Box. Yes, Yes the X-Box does have a built in hard drive, but 1 memory card can also help. The reason for this is that if you need to transport data to another system, or play games against friends with X-boxes, you can use your own data from your memory card. But i would recomend the X-box memory card over this one. It may cost more, but it would have less flaws and is more durable.

1 out of 5 stars Unnecessary Accesory   November 11, 2001

OK, there's no reason to have a memory card for the Xbox, because it has a hard drive built in. The ONLY reason that Microsoft is selling these is because they designed them before they decided to put a hard drive in the Xbox. You can save gigabytes worth of information on the hard drive (thats why you don't need a memory card on a computer). I've saved several games on my Xbox hard drive and it says that its not even 1% full.
