5 out of 5 stars Reliving my childhood.   July 27, 2008
Works perfectly, but I can see how some may have problems with it. It is a very fragile device. Plays every NES cartridge I have. SWEET MACHINE!!!

4 out of 5 stars The warm fuzzy nostalgia of an NES.   May 14, 2008
Well the system is great in many ways, but I want to point out the defining flaws of the system first for a better understanding of my rating. The first thing I would like the point out is the controller it comes with. It's great and all but the D-pad is horrible. You'll find yourself pressing a direction unintentionally and in a game that requires precision movement you are screwed. People complain about the turbo buttons and the slow button. Personally I like having the buttons there for the use when needed (like contra). People feel like the turbo buttons "rob" from the game play. If you don't like turbo buttons don't use them. Another complaint that doesn't really bother me much is the quality of the sound. The sound if very different in some games (I noticed it in Super Mario Bros. 3 and Castlevania 2). The differences are pretty minor and can be ignored. The last complaint is one that bugs me a bit is how you have to jam the cart in the system and rip it out. I feel like I'm breaking my games or the system itself.

Now to the good stuff! The first thing about it's greatness is what you get for the price. You get a system and hook ups with 2 controls. Now for $20 - $30 that's not bad at all. The system works with pretty much any game except like 6. People complain about the lack of support for those games but when you consider the whole NES library that is pretty dang good. The next thing is the size. When this thing comes you are going to freak out and think you got the wrong item because of the small box for packing. The system itself is about the same size as an NES cart. Another great thing about this is that you can use any NES control on it. This thing also plays the games first time no problem. Unlike the NES you don't have to slam the game down in it and play with it to align the connectors. Just because this works doesn't mean you shouldn't clean your games. I wouldn't recommend shoving a dirty game in and ruining the system. The last thing that makes this system blow me away is the picture. Because it uses composite cables instead of an RF switch the picture is crisp and clear.

The bottom line...
If you just want to play your old NES games and don't feel like shucking out 50 bucks on an NES that "may" work then buy one. If you just want to experience the past and just getting into NES games then get one. But, If you are a collector or let minor set backs get in your way then don't get one.

5 out of 5 stars New Console For Old Games   April 24, 2008
This product is a great buy. I bought this for my 10 year old cousin and he loves it. You can play all of your old NES games on this system. You do really have to push on the games to get them in (or pull hard to get them out). The controllers work well, we've had no problems at all with them. Overall a great purchase for a cheap price.

5 out of 5 stars very awsome console   March 31, 2008

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT!   March 30, 2008
I think this system is EXCELLENT! It does what it says it's supposed to do and people that say Nintendo is fighting this company are wrong...Nintendo did NOT renew it's patent on the NES so people can remake systems now to play the original games. The loading and unloading of the game is a bit sticky but it plays the games FLAWLESSLY! I would recommend this system to everybody that enjoys the original NES games!
