Mario is what games are all about! September 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Each Mario game Nintendo puts out is a solid 9/10 or above rated game. I bought this game back when the SNES came out and couldn't put it down. I have lots of good memories playing this game, and now it's out for the Wii's Virtual Console. Even better!
Cool game September 15, 2008 Well for People who likes Mario i'm sure they will enjoy playing this Super Mario World , its Fantastic game not boring at all .. its one of the best Mario games..
This game is a classic in its own right. September 5, 2008 Because at the time, no other game dazzled players like this one did! It was innovative with the flying cape tricks you could pull off and the music was sensational. Going to each castle was fun too and beating the pants off of the Koopa Kids was fun as heck.
I'm not sure that this game would get much play time from me now though, because I played it OUT when it was out and after that! But for those who have played it too, I'm sure you agree that this game was wonderful and still is. :P
4 stars.
Where Do I Start?! July 16, 2008 To me this is possibly the best game I have ever played! I mean, sure there is the Wii with Super Mario Galaxy, but I like this game better. I have beat it 100% complete on the SNES.(I downloaded this game on the Wii shop channel too.) The Story is: Mario and Luigi need a vaction and decide to take Peach on the way. Mario and the Gang end up at dinosour land and, well you guessed it, Bowser was there and decided to take Peach. Mario has to save her!
You can play this with a friend too. P1 will be Mario and P2 is Luigi. Unfortunatley you don't play together, you just take turns playing levels. But anyway I suggest you get this game for the SNES or Virtual Console!
Yet another addictive Mario masterpiece June 30, 2008 The first time I played Super Mario World I was disappointed since I felt the overall feel, sound effects, and the overall package were not as impressive and fun as my all-time favorite Mario game, Super Mario Bros. 3. But after a little while I really grew into this one. The graphics are a step up from SMB3, coming about two years after the NES classic, and feature some new enemies as well as some familiar ones like the unholy annoyance known as Lakitu. Among the new enemies is an extremely annoying football player baddie that cannot be killed with a jump, and usually takes a good number of fireballs (and a follow-up jump) to kill.
Another thing I love about this one is the in-game save feature. SMB3 let you stay on the same world if you lost the game (and the murder-inducingly-frustrating original Super Mario Bros. had no such features at all), but Super Mario World lets you save after 2 or 3 levels, making it a greater convenience to play and easier to beat. The music is as good as ever as well; the victory music after you defeat a boss is especially epic and triumphant in that cheesy video game way. It always puts a smile on my face! Oh, and Yoshi also gets his debut in the world of Mario here. Awesome!
Overall, this is yet another addictive Mario classic. Highly recommended as usual.
