Amazingly Addictive July 20, 2008 As my title says this game is ridiculously fun! As a long time Age of Empires fan I was excited to see that this game was basically Age of Empires with some new tricks up it's sleeves and some interesting change sin game play. The graphics are surprisingly good. Some people have said that the campaign is too short but playing it through on hard it's by no means a short game, as far as I can remember the AOM campaign is longer than those from any of the AOE 3 and expansions packs. If you are a fan of Age of Empires this is definitely a game worth buying!
The good and the bad June 21, 2008 This is a must have for gamers that love RTS (real time strategy)
The Good: Long, interesting, and challenging campaign Good Graphics (not great graphics) Lots of tie-ins to real mythology in 3 major regions Good powers and mythological creatures add an interesting twist to the Age of Empires World Many revolutionary ideas about strategy games are introduced in this game
The Bad: AI (outside of campaign) is a mindless death machine that just lumbers around the map limited "random map" choices The "Titans" expansion pack is not available on mac
Over all it is a fun game that anybody that loves strategy or mythology will enjoy. Although it has a few problems, the good out ways the bad. I have had countless fun games with friends fighting the computers on the hardest setting. Even though the AI is pretty stupid, they are still very deadly.
This game is well worth the money.
Excellent game September 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this game for my son's birthday. It was not expensive and sort of a whim purchase. The game out of the box requires Rosetta (it's not a Universal binary), but if you apply the free patch from their website, it will upgrade the game to a Universal binary. This makes the game much more stable and enjoyable to play.
We had purchased Civ IV: Warlords and this game; my son has hardly even touched Civ IV since we bought this.

We have two kids (age 8 and 10) who really like this game. They have other friends their ages that own it and like it also. Despite it's teen rating, we have felt the game was fine for our kids to play, and it familiarizes them with aspects of mythological beings. While there is warring that goes on, it does not involve guns and thus doesn't seem quite as violent as many of the other teen rated games.
The second mac game I ever played, and I absolutely loved it. April 12, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I think I'm what's known as a 'casual gamer'. I grew up (18 now) on pc games like Caesar 3 and the original Sims. Recently I received a macbook and bought this game. It's very fun. In the campaign mode you control a group of fighters and heroes who travel from place to place, building up towns and armies to defeat great civilizations throughout mythological history. It's real-time strategy, so it can really test your nerves, but you can choose from four levels of difficulty to work at your own pace. I would recommend this to anyone who likes rts games or who likes city-building games and is willing to try something new.
