Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars It's Madden   March 21, 2008

The most annoying thing about Madden 08 is you've got to carry the blessed DVD around with you to launch the game. That's not a problem when you're at home, but if you travel and want to just kick back and do something mindless - DOH! You didn't bring the DVD, you can't play the game. Performance on a 2.2ghz MacBook Pro is good. I kill processor intensive tasks (like BOINC) before starting and have had no problems. Haven't seen any image distortions that I heard complaints about. And, it's running fine under Leopard, too. Overall, it's Madden. You get what you expect. The limited ability to create new plays is still annoying, but it's an arcade game, not a coaching simulator after all.

1 out of 5 stars Awful display   January 30, 2008

I have a Mac Pro with a 24" display. The game display is terrible! As another reviewer stated, the menu is garbled and some menu items can't be seen at all. How could this not be foreseen? And as far as I know, there is no fix to be had. I love Madden but don't buy this game until they fix everything.

1 out of 5 stars Buggy Vaporware   November 26, 2007

EA chose to port this to Mac themselves rather than give it to Aspyr. The inexperience shows. Fraudulently sold as an online game but online didn't work until a patch on Nov 22. EA should have tested it a lot more before it was released. Shame on Apple for selling it at Apple stores before it was ready - don't tell me no one ever tried it. After the first dozen patches, it could be lots of fun but disappointing for now.

1 out of 5 stars Awful on new iMac   November 6, 2007

I have a new 24' iMac and the program will not run. The text gets all garbled up so navigation is impossible. You can't even get a game started because the text is superimposed giberish. On the Apple site others report the same thing on iMacs. Really bad to release a program with such major flaws that it is unusable on the latest systems.
