Thanks for the warning September 8, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was shocked to see only 1 star when I bought this for my iphone and it played great. Then I read the reviews. DRM is a violation of my god given usa constutional rights. Down with anyone or company that promotes them. I already got burned on too human. Thanks guys for preventing me from being departed again of my hard earned money. All you guys buy and iphone and enjoy their version of spore. This may cause me to give up video games. I already hate drm music and won't stand for it on games.
Good shooting guys.
DRM is a Dealbreaker September 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The DRM included by the publisher, Electronic Arts, insults the user by accusing them of a crime before a crime has been committed. For this reason alone, I cannot purchase this game.
Fun Game September 8, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've had the game for about a day now and all in all it's a good time. The creature creator is fun and there are plenty of different options. I didn't really care for the 'cell' portion of the game but the rest has been a lot of fun.
Please note that this is a review about the game. Which is what every review on this page SHOULD be about. The quality of the game. By someone who has played it. Not some yahoo that "Was going to buy the game but you can forget about that now... here's my 1 star review".
What you're reviewing is the DRM. Not the game. That you didn't even play.
Don't buy until they're willing to sell it to you. For real. September 8, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
A great game by a great designer that's been reduced to a bad industry joke by the crippling DRM. Don't buy until they fix it.
Like a delicious sandwich wrapped in broken glass September 8, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
SPORE is like a delicious sandwich wrapped in broken glass. It's not worth getting past the flawed packaging to get the wonderful content.
No internet access? Sucks to be you. Don't live in the US? Sucks again.
These people seriously seem to be driving people who want to buy their product to piracy, plain and simple.
1. Incredibly worthless and complex DRM that ruins the point of owning the game. 2. Content has been dumbed down to "SIMS 2" levels where you can do no wrong, and requires no skills to do anything meaningful.
