5 out of 5 stars Great Game   September 25, 2006

I remember playing this game on the old Amiga,and there was a PC version.
Its very easy to fly,and that suits me.Nothing worse than trying to play a game and the controls are so complicated you almost need to be an actual pilot.
Better to be played with a joystick.
It gives you alot of pleasure to blow up the enemy in this game,and its very well constructed and alot of thought went into this game.
I have played these games from the strike series - Jungle Strike and Nuklear Strike and all of them are great games.I have been through them all without cheats.Some parts are difficult,but with determination you can get through them.
Great classic game.

1 out of 5 stars Incomprehensible on Advance   December 31, 2003

This game, even in this trimmed down version, is still to perplexing for a gameboy. I played this game for about five minutes and then gave it away; it was like flying a helicopter for real! Some games are just too complicated for a Gameboy;

fighting games, pinball games and side scrollers - yes
complex RPGs, strategy/action games, multiple windowed games - no

4 out of 5 stars good game   April 13, 2003

this game has a real good story first of all. there is a madman somewhere in the middle east that is trying to take over the world. You fly a appache helicopter and complete campanges each with several missions. the game has a large variety of enemy vehicles and aircraft each with its own armor level,fire power, and reload speed. One great part of this game is that the missions arent repeatitive and every campagne has something new to do that takes different stragety. It has good graphics and weopons and vehicles are pretty acruate to the real thing. im not to sure how many campainges are in the game because i havent finished it but trust me- itll be a lot of fun game play before you beet the game. It is one of the realistic and challenging fun game ive played.

3 out of 5 stars Huge difficulty, solid mission and combat, same game as SNES   May 27, 2002

For those of you who have played the classic "Strike" series, this is the exact same game that was released in the early 90s. Nothing at all has changed, same controls, same passwords and so on. For those of you who have not played Desert Strike, you are an Apache helicopter pilot, on 30 missions into 5 levels of Desert Storm! This is a pretty nice game, with an overhead view of the helicopter and land, making it not for everyone, especially anyone under 13. Another reason this game is not for everyone is because of its intense difficulty. Limited missiles, fuel, armor, lives and so on make each stage difficult. Each stage has several missions that you must follow. The missions are anywhere from destroying enemy radars / airports (with guns, hydras and missiles) to capturing commanders and saving hostages all from your apache helicopter. There is pretty good gameplay, however just one helicopter, if you get destroyed, that is it, so you collect hostages and drop them off to replenish your copter's armor. One final thing is this game is not worth [full retail], wait until a price drop.
