4 out of 5 stars Fun for parties   July 15, 2008
We have had our Wii for over a year. We bought some extra games to play, but so far, the ones that came with it (sports) are still our favorites. We don't find ourselves playing with it unless we have a party, and need to entertain the teens or younger adults with something. Younger kids like it too, but the controls can be a little confusing for them when under age 5. My 5-yr-old had no problem figuring out how to do the bowling, or boxing, but tennis still baffles us all somewhat. Sometimes we swing, and it doesn't register as a swing at all, or it's "late" with the response.
We don't own any other game systems. We chose this one to help us get up off our "sitters" now and then. No problems with the system. We are just getting to know all the "Wii points" and other stuff that can expand the system more. Overall, I'm glad we bought it.

3 out of 5 stars Fun, but...   July 14, 2008
to me, it's not a "real" video game console. I enjoy playing with my nieces, nephews, siblings, etc. with Wii Sports and Wii Play. Though, I would've liked the motion detector aspect a whole lot more if it wasn't the console's main focus. I guess I'm a bit of a purist. I like playing with my thumbs, and there really is a lot of distraction from that with this system. Like I said before, it's fun, but it's a little too untraditional for my taste.

5 out of 5 stars Good deal!   July 13, 2008
I had heard how hard it was to get a Wii. With Amazon, it was easy and cheaper than the retail stores in my area.

5 out of 5 stars Best console in the history of mankind!!!   July 12, 2008

The wii is the gaming experiance in the history of mankind. I've had my wii since it first came out in 2006. The style of control is great for first person shooters and racing games. I've had no problems with my wii and it is very easy to setup, update, and connect to the internet. The shop channel is great so I can play my favorite games from older consoles. Who needs graphics when you have really good interface, people say the wii sucks because of graphics. The only reason I am considering getting a second console from this generation, the ps3, is because there are some games from the playstation series that I like. Nintendo always releases their well known games on thier new consoles then there's all of the new games that you can get for it. Sometimes you have to look around a little bit to find a game you like. Some people say there are no good games, so far, I've seen at least five to ten good games for wii from each genre.

Overall, don't fall for the bad reviews for the wii because they are all lies.

3 out of 5 stars Fun but overhyped   July 12, 2008
I bought the Wii on the first day it was available and while it was enjoyable for awhile, a year and a half later it has lost most of it's fun. Underpowered, terrible online, and lack of great games, all plague the system. Occasionally a jewel like Super Mario Galaxy comes along but it is usually preceded by 6 months of low quality bargain bin games. If you searching for a girlfriend/family friendly gaming system the wii is an excellent choice but I've found much more enjoyment and use in my other gaming systems.
