Complete Waste Of Money-Total Scam!! December 17, 2008 Robert C. Belden (Land O'Lakes, FL) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Please! Please! Please! Don't be a total "Dumas" and believe the in-store Sales-Hole hyping these over-priced, do nothing extra cables!! These shameless in-store thieves know that you'll be spending some serious coin on your new flat-panel, so whats another [...] for some bogus cable if you to think you'll be getting a better picture?? NOT!! It's common knowledge by those in-the-know, that measureable lab tests using an oscilloscope show ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in picture or audio quality between these cables and the [...] or less generic brand cables on Amazon.com, [...] etc. This was both professionally measured as well as being demonstrated by an engineer on a recent expose' on FOX13 News in Tampa, FL. Keep in mind that all this cable has to do is transfer data only; (not high power, like a loud speaker) so any reasonably good conductor would work just fine just to transmit a data signal. Furthermore, if the cable really made that much of a difference, don't you think that the Manufacturer would either include the cable in the box or mention that in the set-up instructions?? I have tried several brands of HDMI cables, doing brand-blind tests and could never see or hear any difference of any kind!! EVER!! Don't be a total "Dumas" and fall for the BS!! I hope this clears up any myths regarding so called "high end" cables. Don't believe me??? I encourage you to try it yourself!! You'll be glad you did... use the money you save to buy some nice Blu-Ray movies instead!! Bob-OH! OUT!!!
It's a great HDMI cable, priced disproportionately December 16, 2008 Another Monkey 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is simple. I'm a fan of monster cables. I play music professionally and I'm well aware of what a really good cable does for an instrument. It's not a gimmick. But that's analog. HDMI is digital. Digital is a different game. We're talking about ones and zeros here. Your computer's hard disk drive is connected by a cheap cable which probably cost cents to manufacture. A USB 2.0 cable costs a few dollars on the aftermarket. They're not losing data because they're inexpensive. 100% of the data makes it from one place to another. The only variable amongst digital cables of varying quality should be speed and that really only applies to long runs of cable. The Monster HDMI cables are well built and very fast. In fact, they're rated for 14.9Gbps. It's overkill. HDMI sources are pushing nowhere close to 14.9 Gbps and won't be until we've moved beyond 1080p to the next big resolution. Heck, a 5 Gbps cable running 1080p has 55% of its bandwidth free for future expansion. There are bad cables out there and they are to be avoided. Monster HDMI cables will look much better than a poorly constructed cheap HDMI cable, but they will not look better than a well built inexpensive 10 Gbps HDMI cable, like the kind you find at Firefold or Monoprice, two online HDMI cable sellers. There's one possible exception - if you're doing a very long cable run, Monster's excessively well-built cable will probably perform better. I'm talking about 50 foot cable runs. But if you're running less than 35 feet of cable, you're going to be more than covered by a less expensive cable. For a short run like under 10 feet (this cable), it's just silly. If you have money to burn, then get a Monster cable. Here's a challenge though - if you have enough money for the Monster HDMI cable, then buy a high quality 10 Gbps HDMI cable from Firefold or Monoprice too. It'll only run you an extra $10-$20. Test them side by side. I don't think you'll see a difference.
Great Cable December 4, 2008 Robert A. Slepecky Jr. (Cleveland, Ohio) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Monster Cable M1000 4' HDTV HDMI A/V Cable - 1.22M I am an audiophile/videophile junkie wanting to get the last ounce of performance out of my system so after reading the reviews I bought the M1000 to replace the monster 1000HD Ultra-high speed hdmi cables I already had in my system. I bought an M1000 16 foot cable to go from my receiver to my professionally calibrated 72" 1080p DLP TV and a 4 foot M1000 to go from my Blu-Ray player to the receiver. I anticipated at least a minor improvement, but was really surprised at how much of an improvement the cable made. Sometimes when you upgrade, so much of the improvement is subjective and you WANT to think you are seeing/hearing a difference (whether there is one or not). That is not the case here. The M series truly gives the picture a 3D appearance that was lacking with the other cables. Colors are more vivid and the picture is more detailed and just overall more pleasing to the eye. I was really, really surprised to get that level of improvement especially since I was using one of Monster's better cables to begin with. My components are fairly high end and I expect the best and this cable is truly the best hdmi cable I ever used. Monster bashers beware - this is a product that you will be hard pressed to find fault with. A definite must have for any audiophile/videophile. BTW, I replaced the hdmi cables from my Tivo, HD DVD player and universal DVD/SACD/DVD Audio player as well and the improvements were the same across the board. I am actually going through my regular DVD library again. The sonic improvements are more difficult to quantify -and it may be the "I want it to sound better" syndrome, but to me it does provide an increased depth and clarity to the soundstage. The video improvements are really what set this cable apart, though.
Like nothing else. November 12, 2008 Socrates Silverio (Florida ,USA) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful

You can not go wrong with Monster. November 3, 2008 John O. Beckham (Louisville, Kentucky USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased 3 Monster M Series M1000 HDTV cables (8 ft./ 2.44 m.). One was used to connect my Yamaha RX-V 1900 receiver to a Samsung 61 in. dlp television (led). The other 2 cables connected an HD cable box (dvr) and a Panasonic blu-ray player to the Yamaha. The performance of the Monster cables leave nothing to be desired. Picture quality and sound are spot on.If you are serious about home theater maximum performance and have spent top dollar for your components; don't stop short knowing for certain that your cables are bringing out all the components have to offer.
