Does NOT work with *new* PStwo!! December 27, 2006 J. Hagen Just as a data point to back up another reviewer, this Pelican Multi-Tap did NOT work with my new ( as in, bought it October 2006 ) Slimline PStwo, despite a very clear label indicating that it now supports that model. In fact, it doesn't work *at all*. The PStwo either doesn't turn on at all, or it stays on, doesn't turn off, and doesn't do anything- no game load, no system browser, *nothing*. It looks like Pelican has discontinued the product ( I couldn't find it on their website ), and there is a clear reason. Don't buy this if you have a Slimline PStwo, period!
Buyer Beware! October 3, 2006 C. Miranda It didn't work for all of my PS2 games that supported multitap. I have the PS2 slim version, and I found that I have to unplug and replug the multitap to get 4 players to work for Hot Shots Golf Fore, and it just didn't work at all for Smash Court Pro Tournament 2. I'm probably not going to buy any other multiplayer games for the PS2 from now on.
Does NOT work with PS2two! June 2, 2006 Jason D. Axelrod 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Do not be fooled by the packaging! The packaging has a sticker on it which clearly states "Now Compatible with: PS2two". However, I bought this item and took it home only to find out otherwise. Yes, the multitap does succesfully read all four controllers and the memory card; it does act and do its function perfectly... However, at the same time, it completely degrades the audio quality; audio is at a low volume is full of static. Even more so, I can not even turn on my PS2two with this multitap plugged in, the PS2two will turn on and then immediately turn itself off within a second. I have never been happy with any Pelican products, but I was forced to buy this one since Gamestop refuses to carry the official Sony line of adaptors. It is my feeling that Pelican did not test this product for PS2twos, they simply changed the design a bit so that it fit into the PS2two controller/memory port and called it a day. Do not buy this product if you have a new Slimline PS2two.
Another good Pelican product March 3, 2006 Max's Mom (NJ) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This multitap is made by Pelican for Gamestop (Gamestop is on the packaging). We have a Pelican memory card and the Pelican wireless controllers which all work very well with our PS2 so I thought we would give this a try. It was easy to use - plug one end into memory and controller 1 slots, then plug up to 4 controllers and your memory card into the other end of the device and you are good to go. I was unsure if this multitap would work with our PS2 after reading reviews of other brands of multitaps but thought I would give it a try. Our PS2 is model 39001/N (an older internet ready version) but the packaging says it is also for PS one and "now compatible with PS2two" (with a picture of the slim PS2 next to it).
