Both too easy and too hard January 5, 2009 Coogs (Great Mills, MD United States) There are two modes for playing this game, arcade and sim. If you play the arcade setting, the controls are very easy to handle, but you don't get the opportunity to actually swing the putter. If you play on sim mode, the game is nearly impossible. The controls are far too sensitive, and you'll end up launching ball after ball right off the course. As mentioned by other reviewers, load times are extremely slow. You have to wait a good spell for each new hole to load, which seems odd. Surely a few holes could be loaded at a time. This can be a bit frustrating. Overall, it's a simplistic but relatively fun game in the arcade mode, perhaps best suited to children (as the name implies). But if you're an adult and a big-time mini golf enthusiast, this title might disappoint you.
Great game for fun December 29, 2008 M. Lewis Jr. WOW! So we got the game over the holiday and today is the first day we played. I am going to say this game is very fun and the controls handle nice and smooth. My son (7) also had fun playing it and did better than he would a regular game of put put. The courses that you can play without unlocking the rest were fun and very challenging. Some of them were pretty straight forward and holes in one could be done with no problem but other than that a lot of pars. The graphics were good and really got us in the zone with the game. The ball sometimes was a little glitchy especially when hitting it through tubes or on hills and would roll unrealistic. But other than that no real glitches that I could see. The one thing I liked about it that many games do not offer is making your own personal Mii in the game. You could not pick your Mii's from the Wii but made a personal one through the game which was nice but not knowing this it took the three of us playing a long time to set it up before playing. If you plan on looking into the game to buying it I would recommend it or you could just rent it to see if it is to your liking. Thumbs up for me!
Over sensitive, but very sim like in controls, but lazy in visuals & sound December 3, 2008 LanaF (ny) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ok, boring visuals, you can see trailers & gameplay on youtube. Horrible sounds, music is bad, constant buzzing from plane that keeps passing & couple animal sound. Nothing more except occasional ball sound. Might as well have crickets. Loading times are as long as it plays to do a hole in golf. There are 4 worlds w/18 holes each, you must get par under to unlock the 3 other worlds. The nuyous are just like miis but slightly more choices. Thereare no controls for lefties. There are a lot of programming laziness, balls go through your shoes, if you do well you do the same "YES!" movement & if you do bad, you hit yourself w/your club repeatedly & the club goes through your head. The camera is for aiming only, there is no line to figure out where to go, you have to gage yourself you can only tilt up/down which is only for when there is something in the way. No controls for lefties. When aiming for shot, your nuyou's big, fat head will totally block the whole screen. The holes are boring at first, but then get very complicated like puzzles, great for teenagers & adults, but will be too hard for kids. The most frustrating point: the controls. You have arcade & simulation. In both you aim with d pad & the gage constantly knows where your wii mote is. When ready, you have to pull back a little until it A lights up & you can hit it to start your power meter or stroke. This is where it changes. In arcade, you pull back using the small meter which only has small green to yellow, orange & red at full strength, no #s. When satisfied, you just hit B, no swing. The meter is VERY sensitive, for putts, anything more then almost nothing is too strong. Easy to understand, but VERY sensitive. In simulation, once you hit A, forget the meter, just swing how you would in real life. It is pretty good programming. But again sensitive. You can't use your wrist, you have to really lock your wrist like real golf & not let that do ANY movement or it will always be too strong or putt when you were still deciding. You have to be precise in this game, no room for error at all. Trust me, I knocked out Carnival games mini golf in about 2-3 hrs, this game is HARD & frustrating. Definitely rent it first and/or get a club that will help keep your wrist straight. Be ready for it to be like real golf where not only do you have to be careful about swing strength but trying to figure out where to go. This game could have been good if the visuals/sound was better. It's like eating a gourmet meal in a hospital cafe. It distracts what could have been good. This is made by Data design which gave us such shovelware like Myth Makers anything, Trixie in toyland, Gingerbread man & Anubis 2. This is nowhere near as bad & maybe even had promise if they gave a longer gage & more control options & more effort in everything else.
Very Slow and Boring November 14, 2008 A. Chadwick 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
This game is extremely slow, with a full 12 seconds delay between every hole. Not fun at all. This game has cute graphics, but annoying repetitive music.
