Product Description The CP Technologies USB 2.0 Hi-Speed PCI card is a dramatic performance increase over the standard USB 1.1. Whereas USB 1.1 is only 12Mbits/s, the new USB 2.0 Hi-Speed specification used by the CP Technologies USB 2.0 PCI card runs at up to 480Mbits/s.USB, standing for "Universal Serial Bus", allows you to attach up to 128 devices simultaneously with automatic device detection and installation. Since USB 2.0 Hi-Speed is an evolution of the existing USB 1.1 specification, it is fully backward compatible with current USB systems and peripherals. Even with the dramatically increased speeds, it works with existing cables and connectors. In other words, consumers will have the benefit of using devices they already have, so their investments are protected.

Works great August 29, 2008 This card installed easily and has performed well for about 3 months now. I installed it into an HP machine about 2 years old. No problems whatsoever.
Didn't work August 17, 2008 I tried to replace a USB 1 port with this. It wasnt' picked up by XP so I installed the driver sent with it. It just kept locking up my machine so I reinstalled the USB 1 and just live with the speed. A wast of 20 bucks. First product I've gotten through Amazon that was worth less. Still love Amazon.
Works great with Corsair flash May 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had problems with my new 16 Gig Corsair Flash voyager and was ready to send it back to Amazon when I discovered my other brand USB card was not working right. I installed this card and the Corsair worked great. It also cured a few other USB issues I was having but was just living with. I have 3 computers that are older (2001 vintage) and I bought one for every computer. I have Canon laser and ink jet printers, office jet printers, hard drives, flash memory, mobile phone connections, and a Microtek scanner all working excellently with these cards. This card was a snap to install with Win XP as it already has all the drivers. I now own 4 of these and they are a great buy for the price. Just my 2 cents worth!
A huge headache May 9, 2008 This adapter didn't work in my PC, an Intel D845-PESV. None of the high-speed USB ports on the motherboard work right either. The CP Technologies card works okay with low-speed devices, but I bought it to use with high-speed devices. When in use, Windows gives messages that the high-speed device is not plugged into a high-speed port, even though it is. When I try to run a high-speed device, such as a memory stick or a USB hard drive, the system crashes (blue screen of death) when performing high-speed operations. Of course by the time I figured all this out, my 30 days were up and Amazon won't take it back. I don't know if I have a defective unit or if CP's design is bad.
Great PCI Card! February 22, 2008 Arrived on time, and it looked pretty good to me. Easy to install, just popped it into an empty PCI slot in my desktop PC. Windows automatically recognized it after I rebooted, I didn't even need to use the CD it was packaged with. It dramatically upped the speeds of my USB transfers from my previous USB 1.1. I would definitely recommend it!
