Samurai Champloo: Sidetracks hits stores

Video game publisher and developer Namco Bandai Games announced today that the highly anticipated [i]Samurai Champloo: Sidetracked[/i] for the PS2 has been shipped to stores. This game is based off of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim show of the same name. Uniquely, players will witness the strength of a powerful samurai sword against hip-hop beats. This all new and original storyline, [i]Sidetracked[/i] promises players a new adventure with a totally new way to experience samurai swordplay. [p]"With Samurai Champloo, we have created an inimitable fighting experience that lets players execute their preferred combo moves depending on the background tracks that they choose," said Yoshi Niki, business unit director from NAMCO BANDAI Games of America. "By staying true to creator Shinichiro Watanabe's vision, we have crafted a game that truly integrates the code of the samurai and hip-hop culture."[p]Players will player through a "lost episode" via one of three playable characters: Mugen, a samurai who uses break-dancing in his technique, Jin who practices Bushido, and a mystery third playable character exclusive to the game. Players will fight legions of mercenaries, master swordsman, assassins, mythical beasts, and even gangster monkeys. Yes, gangster monkeys!
