“Pump It Up: Exceed” Gets Free Step Editor and Song Importer

In a move that’s sure to shock the more paranoid amongst the Recording Industry Association of America, video game publisher Mastiff, creator of [i]Pump it Up: Exceed[/i] for the Xbox and PlayStation 2, is now offering a free step editor over Xbox Live for [i]Pump it Up: Exceed[/i]. This new step editor not only allows players to create and edit steps for existing songs in the game, but also allows players to import their own tracks saved to their Xbox hard drive, and create their own step choreographies for them.

According to Mastiff, the new step editor for [i]Pump it Up: Exceed[/i] will have the following features:

-Create or modify steps of songs already in the Xbox version of [i]Pump It Up: Exceed[/i]

-Create or modify steps to songs that you import via Xbox Soundtracks feature: simply copy any songs you like from your music CD to the Xbox console (Soundtracks). Then, load the song into Step Editor.

-Test Play your steps as you create them

-Dance to all your created steps in Custom Mode

[i]Pump it Up[/i] is a dance game developed by Andamiro in Korea, and while previously only in arcades, in 2004 Mastiff released a home version, with the follow-up, [i]Pump it Up: Exceed[/i] released stateside on August 31, 2005.
