Majesco announces Infected for PSP

By Quinton Miles

Majesco announced Infected today, a new run and gun shooter in development for the PSP. Set at Christmastime in New York City, a strange virus has hit the city and is starting to turn citizens insane and violent. Unlike the rest of the people infected, Rookie Officer Stevens is immune to the virus and a mysterious doctor uses his blood to develop a way of destroying the creations. The game will also support the PSP’s WiFi features in multiplayer combat.

“Infected will certainly be ‘socially communicable’ in that victorious players can wirelessly invade their opponents PSP systems and spread their unique virus literally around the world,” said Ken Gold, vice president of Marketing for Majesco. “This type of compelling game play is further enhanced by allowing players to check their ranking against other players, as well as see just how far their virus has spread.”

“This is an original game custom designed to take full advantage of the power of the PSP system,” said Bob Stevenson, CEO of Planet Moon Studios. “We look forward to working with Majesco to provide handheld gamers with an entirely new game play experience that’s full of new ideas and happens to be one hell of a good time.”

Infected will hit the PSP sometime this year. As always, check back for more updates.
