Guns’n’Zombies Review

Introduction

Zombies don’t seem to be going anywhere, and the apocalypse setting of Guns’n’Zombies proves that you can still make a zombie related product with a unique twist. Plants vs. Zombies, The Walking Dead, Black Ops… they are everywhere. But, Guns’n’Zombies is a pleasant experience with a fresh take on a zombie themed game, plus it’s been released by an indie developer. It was $6 for Early Access, so the game is definitely not 100% complete yet. There are some minor issues that players have reported but overall it’s a great game, here’s why…

Another Zombie Apocalypse Scenario…

At first, it might not seem like an original game when you find out the zombies came from an artificial nano-virus. Of course you are one of the very few to survive, and you’re kind of person to stand your ground and fight back rather than run away. All the main characters are like you and want to fight back as well, and

13Gameplay and Multiplayer in Guns’n’Zombies

What do you prefer? Mini-gun, grenade launcher, or a small shoot gun? There are many tools that will make it easier for you to fight off hordes of zombies. Turrets are a big feature in the game and they will help you out, but its harder to increase your character’s skills if the turrets are doing all the work. Turrets are definitely optional, so you can decide which strategy to go with to fight off the robotized zombies.

There is also a survival mode which is much more difficult, but it’s fun to play with other players through Steam.

There are some role-playing aspects of the game and the storyline is very engaging, even somewhat realistic. It’s the kind of plot that makes you think, “hey, this can happen one day,” but its not too serious that the game isn’t fun.

There is also a survival mode which is much more difficult, but it’s fun to play with other players through Steam. There will be PvP in the official release, so this is also something to look forward to if you’re into that. Co-op campaign mode is going to be featured in the official release, so it’s definitely got the multiplayer action that we all love and enjoy!

Fighting off hordes of zombies is fun, period. Just look at all the very basic mobile zombie games that are addicting with minimal features. Guns’n’Zombies is a more complex, yet addicting zombie game with more strategy than similar games.

Conclusion – 4/5

Guns’n’Zombies is worth the 4 star rating because the story is perfected, the AI is sharp, and because the gameplay is addicting. If this review was not based on the Early Access version it would be a 3/5 rating (for the record). The colorful graphics really bring this game to life, and who doesn’t enjoy a game that’s easy on the eyes? But hey, that’s not all! The ability to increase your character’s skills is a great feature and there is a lot of strategy required to be successful in Guns’n’Zombies. This game did a great job with the zombies and not every enemy will be exactly the same, as they each have unique abilities and act differently. It’s an interesting zombie experience that you don’t want to miss!
