yeah i agree with u, if u were to buy the one thats 299, then u would have to buy all the other stuff at this price.

i was mad about the price too.

but then i realized

$169 (i have now)
$I20 (allowance i will get by november)
$100 (around the money i will get for my birthday)
$50+ (the money i will get doing extra work)

$480+

Enough for a system and a game!
 
Yeah but one game is not enough for me. I'm trying to get atleast two. Thats about $520 w/o tax. Thats some serious coin to me.

Oh well, looks like I'm going to have to go back into the porn industry again to make the extra money. I swore I wouldn't do it anymore after Hollywood based Boogie Nights on me, but I see no other way.

Have you seen the new bundle prices?! The cheapest one is like $600! The highest price I've seen is $2000 for the "Omega" bundle. This bundle crap is getting totally out of hand!
 
Well, the Omega bundle is pretty gigantic...it comes with like...20 games. The 600 dollar one isn't so bad, since it comes with the 3 best games on it.
 
those are just bonus bundles, you can still just get the premium

i think the bill gates knew what he was doing all along.... 360 and a deluxe model equals more money to him.. not that he needs anymore ha ha
 
Nah, I think it was a sloppy move to make you buy the HDD seperately. It was one of the best aspects of the Xbox...and now it's gon.
 
well the core package is probably targeted at casual gamers or people who generally don't understand how things work. A parent or a young child for example might not understand that you save $100 by getting the core package but you'll have to get a memory card anyway which is $40 right there. On top of that they probably won't realize you need the media remote control to access half the other features they are likely buying it for which is $30 according to mumu's list (unless I'm reading it wrong). Right off the bat you are spending $70 of the $100 you saved and still aren't getting nearly as much memory, you aren't getting the headset, and you aren't getting wireless controllers, etc.

I think it is a decent business strategy...I just wonder how many of the core packages are going to be brought back in the week after Christmas in order to upgrade to the premium package.
 
Yeah, I can imagine a whole line of angry parents standing in Best Buy complaining that no one told them it would be better to get the $400 package. And then they'll get even more pissed off when they find out that package is sold out.

Walmart online is selling the same bundles that gamestop and EB games were selling for $620 and 500 something dollars.

Well it really not a dumb move. Xbox 360 is going to be the first next gen console out. And have a year or 2 year gap between the other consoles come out. They will be the only market for next gen graphics. They are giving consumers multiple options to obtain a xbox 360. Console buyers are used to paying 200-300 bucks for a console. For 299 the price of an xbox regular you can get the 360. Then for the more hardcore gamers who want the extra features we they have a super bundle with everything for the xbox experience. For someone who does not know what to do with all the extra features the 299 deal would be perfect for them. Not every gamer needs a 20 gb hardrive.
